Color me shocked that UND-Minnesota is the night game.....wow. I thought for sure they'd have BC Johny and the boys from Union in the nightcap. Rumpel....DEAD Motte.....DEAD Wilcox.......The next Hobey hopefull on the list. Should be fun to see the two heated rivals get back together for an old time matchup.

I wish Notre Dame had beaten SCSU. That way it would have been an actual competition tonight. SCSU's run ended when Miami found themselves for a stretch of games. I thought SCSU would come into the regional like a team with a point to prove, but its been the opposite.

It was pretty funny radio. He really didn't know how to say it. He was at, "all the naysayers can stick a.....(pause)....in their......." I love TH. Guy has the best job in the world in my opinion. The homer in him comes out at times, but when you've been around the program as long as him, and bleed kelly green, you can't blame him.

Karl is such an intelligent guy. The Hakstol show did a little segment of him watching game film with the goaltenders, and it was refreshing to see him not so much directly coaching the goalies on direct methods, but having constructive dialogue with them. He let them give their take of what was going on, of what they were trying to do on certain plays, etc. I know that what they show on TV is the positive stuff, but it creates a good relationship between coach and player. Went to a camp as a kid with Bill Howard as a coach....my God....his way or the highway. I compliment all Wisconsin goaltenders who played under him, and had the mental toughness to get through it. Guy would completely break you down. Karl did play for Dean Blais for four years....so I'll go ahead and give him a compliment for playing for a guy that probably goes out of his way to run over a goalie on his way to work.

SCSU used up all their luck against the Irish. Gopher-Sioux.....The way it should be.

I don't know about the rest of you.....but boy does it make it so much easier watching games with the Sioux in the frozen four..... Last year, I just couldn't watch Sunday.....I know....lame.

I thought St. Clair lost a year of eligibility when he had to sit a year. Glad I was wrong on that one. Good to have a grinder like him for two more years.

AGREED! This team is going to lose a ton of baseball games this year. Just win 2/3 at home. Nobody cares about you on the road.....

I at times have felt the same as you. The St. Lawrence game.....the Canadian weekend.....The Saturday against Omaha......Miami at the Target center...... I've heard its a season long process about a thousand times from a lot of wise old hockey fans who patrol around here, and even from Hak all through the way. Some how we let ourselves get lulled into the....."not going to have the push this year" crowd. Considering the talent that he's got, it may be one of his best coaching jobs to date.

There is still 8 games or so left in the NHL season. I'm sure he'll get called up today.

I agree that UND played poorly. Watch the first OT. Wow were they gripping the sticks tightly. Ice was crap but Ferris seemed fine in that first OT. Highway robbery from Zane. Seven game series I'd say UND wins it. Last night the team that was better had its season ended. That's why you gotta love hockey.

A lot of people have written this team off. I was probably one of them sitting in the Target Center watching Miami celebrate their semifinal win over UND when it looked like the season was over. But we showed up the next day and hoped for three prayers to get answered. Surprisingly, one by one they happened. The last one coming in a bar instead of sitting and watching the NCHC title game. Then this weekend came. And I thought for sure the magic was going to end against a senior laden Wisconsin club....but it didn't. Then I had that horrible "we're going to lose this...." feeling from about the start of the third period through Gaarder finding a rebound and stuffing it home. Go back to 2004, almost ten years to the date. A goalie stands on his head and UND doesn't go to the frozen four. I remember thinking, "when is a UND goalie going to stand on his head like that and take the team on his back to the frozen four." Argue all you want about Phil in Madison, but it finally happened ten years later. UND had no business winning that game, but the hockey gods were kind. UND will be fine as long as people keep writing them off I guess.

Northeast winner gets East winner. And Midwest gets west. No reseeding done. UND vs. Goldy/SCSU. Union vs. BC/Lowell

What a snipe for the game winner. No goaltender is stopping that one. I thought Notre Dame was much better in regulation, but SCSU carried the play in OT. Goldy smiling about the fact that SCSU had to play so much extra hockey. But I'm thinking SCSU with the two week layoff will have enough in the tank to give them a run. Should be a fun one.

I'd love to go to Philly, but I have a very pregnant wife who isn't due until May, but its been an adventurous pregnancy. Would never forgive myself if I missed the birth. Please all of you that go have a great time for me.

I'll take my hat off to Ferris State. As a UND fan we've gotten hot goalied to absolute death over the years. We all know how they feel after that one. I think Ferris is a lot better team than a lot of us thought. Tough tough way to go down when you work a team over for long stretches like they did. So.....had Miami beaten Denver then...... Miami would have played Bucky last night in Cincinatti. And UND would have been in Massachusetts right? Or would they have been in Connecticut?
