  1. No....a Mass. kid goes to BU or BC...... Has UND ever had a player from Massachusetts?
  2. I was wondering where Jack Eichel was committed too, but then I looked at where he's from and I can about bet where he's going. 0-0 after the first. Good period of hockey. Good goaltending, some chances both ways, and the officials are letting them play.
  3. After a whistle filled first three minutes this game has been a lot of fun to watch. Up and down the ice a bit and puck possession so key. Any time the puck is turned over both teams send numbers the other way.
  4. Might want to check nhl.com. They have done every USA game to this point.
  5. The Russian goalie made thus far the save of the tournament. Great lateral movement save to rob a Swede on the back door. 2-1 Sweden after two.
  6. I was wondering why TSN was saying Germany had a chance. I had no idea the format changed. Game time is 10:30 officially.
  7. Paul LaDue......Because he might be the only guy left that I haven't picked.... I don't care either way about keeping it going or ending it. Maybe when we get down to the goalies....
  8. With the way the teams have been playing I'd say advantage USA, but you throw everything out the window when these teams get together. I knew the Slovaks would push Canada, but not to the point where Canada had to come from two down to win it. Should be fun 9:30 AM hockey!
  9. Without a doubt that might have been the most talent the tournament has ever seen. Look at the rosters for all of those teams and then look at current NHL rosters. Here's team Canada: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_World_Junior_Ice_Hockey_Championships_rosters
  10. Lucia has done a fantastic job thus far with the group they have. Attack, attack, attack. Maybe I'm too used to watching UND trying to sit on a lead and chip pucks out and clog up lanes. I like this team's chances. Obviously one more game in the group stage, but I think they'll win the group and play the likes of Russia in the semis.
  11. Its Sutter's first loss EVER as the Canadian World Junior coach and he's the wrong coach for the team. ~McDavid may as well stay in Sweden. ~Both goaltenders are horrible. ~Olympic rinks are stupid. ~All the best American players are in Canada playing. Loving the TSN website right now.
  12. And we got these new fleece hats he should check out...... Things are falling apart on TSN......will Canada even show up to play Slovakia? Who could very well beat that team as well. If Canada loses to Slovakia, and then the U.S. beats them on New Years eve Canada may not make the final six.....
  13. I've always wondered why Canada hockey doesn't put together some type of U17 and U18 team that would travel all over the country and play teams from every league in the CHL. Heck, have them play teams from the BCHL too. Why not? I think the USDT has done worlds of good for hockey here in the United States. And you ask most kids who have been through the program about their experience and they have nothing but good things to say.
  14. Hide your valuables in Canada.....you don't lose to a team that hasn't medaled since 2005 or for that matter hasn't beaten Canada EVER as the Czech Republic.
  15. "HAKed!!! Canada falls short with College coach."
  16. If they ever knew that they weren't going to win the tourney with the talent they had they'd have a sure fire scapegoat for not winning the tournament Imagine the headlines: "Lower 48 traitor dooms Canada." "Lower level coach costs Canada." "Talent identification, coaching strategy key in latest Canada WJ flop." "Yankee-Doodle not so dandy...." I could do this all night.....
  17. Yes, after the mighty Bizen take a bus up to Grand Forks they should just tear down the Alerus center. Because UND, Montana, Montana State, Eastern Washington will never produce a football team that is on the same level as this group. I'm hoping the Bizen win in Frisco though, good luck to a darn good team.
  18. Better question....has an NCAA hockey coach ever coached Canada's WJC team? I'm guessing no.
  19. I was torn on the two choices, but I think the program is now in better hands than what it was left in. I'm excited for the prospect of the defense getting better. A lot of people will throw Bubba under the bus after he doesn't go .500 his first season, but I think most of us know that this rebuilding process will take time. Congrats to Coach Schweigert.
  20. People are wanting Dumba to be the guy sent home. Liability defensively....hah. Guess he shouldn't be in the NHL. Someone should tell them that team that showed up in Grand Forks all those years ago isn't coming back.
  21. That game wasn't as close as the score either. That well coached NAIA team kicked our butts. Absolutely took it to UND on both sides of the football.
  22. Going to TSN and reading post game blogs makes me chuckle....Canada should just forfeit the rest of the tournament. After an exhibition loss they're being called the worst Canadian team ever....
  23. Update: USA beats Finland 3-2 behind 38 saves from Providence goaltender Gilles. Canada trailing Sweden 3-0 in the third. Sweden looks to be the favorite. Pretty impressed with them. Their powerplay is lethal.
  24. Its either that or an NBA segment setting up a full day of basketball on Christmas day.
