Some great games on tap today. Mahtomedi and Hermantown Warroad and Orono CDH and Edina Andover and Tonka. Love how the tournament wraps all the semifinals into a Friday.

Boy does Tonka have some kids....man. Yet like Hill always does...they battle and find a way.

Tons of fun to watch play last year in West Fargo. Kind of had that feeling he wouldn't be playing high school hockey.

I'm amazed there weren't more Red River kids on the list. I thought they could have 5 or 6 honestly.

At least the Bizen were in the game to get there. Rather have the chip and a chair than be gone round 1.

The part that sucks is that they let Morrow walk to bring in Johnson, and it hasn't worked out with Johnson obviously. That's life, it happens, we were on the wrong side of the coaches' gut feeling on something. If we were top three in the NCHC and a playoff lock it's not as big of an issue. We all know the current state of things though.

I would like to know this as well. I mean, anybody who is around the press box, is he there on game days in a suit? @Goon is he alive still?

Talked to his dad after the championship game and he really hasn't heard from teams yet, but I can't imagine he doesn't end up at least in the NAHL.

It would be nice if a certain beat writer covering the team would ask the status of players on the roster who haven't played in a while? Like...."Can you speak to the status of #6 coach for the rest of the season?" Maybe throw in #5 to to make it look like you wonder about everyone.

Jump into spring training, and we've got Brooks Lee playing a lot already.

I think a Brett Larson or Scott Sandelin would do big things at Wisconsin with the money that they would have. Heck, they could throw a ton of money at David Carle to get him into the mix.

I honestly think it's a state of the program series for UND. We've struggled all year, but when the chips are down are we the University of North Dakota still? Or have we taken a step back and are we going to let Omaha do something they've never done before? We hear the word culture a lot and that it's a special class we have. Well if that's the case then there shouldn't be an issue this weekend and the growing Mavs shouldn't end our season correct?

Best time of the year! Two teams playing for their collective lives in Omaha this weekend in what should go three games in my mind. All the games between these teams have been good close hockey games. Game 1....4-1 UND win Game 2....3-3 OT tie (we don't call shootout losses a loss) Game 3....5-4 UND OT win Game 4....2-1 UND win So the Mavs are definitely due for a win in this series, but two pretty even teams. Will we continue to see DeRidder 2.0? Will #4 play? Will the Mavs make the NCHC Frozen Faceoff for the first time ever at the cost of UND? Will the #MGFC know that shootouts won't happen this weekend? Will @MafiaMan make the 7 hour drive to Baxter??? Wilbur's unpopular opinion: Mavericks in 3.

I thought exactly the same thing and was hoping one of three officials looking at the play caught that. Johnny T held our player's stick into Kucharski's head. It's still a goal whether the stick is there or not but JT didn't do his goalie any favors in the third period.

Okay, he put it out there. He's got this team doing special things this season. Winning four games the next two weekends has to happen first.
