It was shockingly the first time all year one of our goalies was hung out to dry by poor d zone as well.

Thinking it won't matter because Kleven will be a Senator soon. I have a feeling Frisch is back. He's a get your masters type kid. If he's back let it ride with 4, 24, and the frosh d men, although likely one lefty d man on the way from the portal. Two portal goalies if Hedquist is staying in the BCHL. If he's coming then you've got to be sure your Portal guy can play 20 plus games. Wonder how much scholarship dollars 32 gets? If we can tell Calder we don't have money available we can tell that to him as well I'd think.

It's frustrating because I want it to work, but the ship has sailed. The atmosphere of the championship game didn't hold a candle to other conferences. Let's play out the last two weekends as a single game semi and higher seed hosting championship game the next. I hate the B1G, but they figured out their conference tournament sucked. And ours does now too. If Denver is playing CC at Magness they are trying against the Tigers instead of going through the motions in front of UND and SCSU fans cheering for CC. I watched the WBC instead of CC and SCSU last night. Just zero energy at the game.

I'm really going to miss Arraez. Guy was huge for Venezuela. Hitting third in that lineup....man.... Hope he has a great season in Miami, I'm a fan for life.

What I don't get is that Berry's teams play much much less physical than Hak's and take less penalties. The physical play would get Hak's teams out of position at times, but we loved the huge hits that weren't majors like they are today and teams had to have their heads up at all times skating through neutral ice. So outside of Kleven, we don't play that hockey anymore. Why on earth did our d zone go to absolute hell throughout the season, and cost us again on a 3x3 rush to end the season? We got off trying to blame the goaltending through most of it, but the 7-6 loss to Western rang the bell that it wasn't just the goaltending. Save percentage gets owned by one guy but it's a team statistic. And now Brad has a huge reconstruction task on the defensive side of things.... Gonna be a long few months....

This ^^^^^ Watch the atmospheres of the games in Mankato and Mariucci. It's the way to do it. If we are a #4 seed and we are pissed about a rocking Amsoil against #1 Duluth then go sit in an empty arena and watch termites.

This is exactly it. Bless his heart and the #MGFC, but he's not going to play in the NHL. Ryan Duncan, a guy who won a pretty big award made a career of it in Europe. Probably the path for Gaber after he leaves.

Ben Kraws from ASU back in the portal. We could likely get him with no scholarship dollars applied. Was at Miami, then played 27 games at ASU last year before Northeastern goalie came in and took the reigns from him. He's a big kid with great lateral movement. Low risk....very low risk.

Well said. Is our coach able to look in the mirror first and foremost and correct things? Does he see there is an issue? One....one NCAA victory since 2016, and there were regionals in Fargo many times during this streak. (See above post).

It is what it is. Gotta use the portal to fix things...it's like putting too much money on a credit card, it eventually catches up to you. 32 isn't the guy. I don't think Hedquist will be right away either, Johnson serves his role well. #9 needs to be the NCHC forward of the year next season. They have to find guys that can play with his skill set, and not worry about the liability defensively that comes with it. I think Blake is a winner like his dad, and can absolutely take over games. Find him a line that we can give a nickname to.

Think this is the last time I'm making the trek to St. Paul for the NCHC. Thirty bucks to park outside the X for my dad in a handicapped parking space, waited in a hot dog line for 30 minutes for three undercooked hot dogs which one of my sons is still struggling with this morning because I should have just known better. Now likely just going to leave early today. I'd be for the B1G model in the future. St. Paul just isn't the same, pains me to say it because it was never a question with fan experience before.

IMHO we've got to recruit Minnesota better. So many good high school goaltenders in the state that with a year or two of junior hockey development would be capable college goaltenders. Karl or Zane a great example. No reason for us to have to take a gamble on a kid from Sweden that no one has seen play live.

Blake is the first player at UND where I've seen the dad and the son both score a goal live. Old man at old REA of course.
