Even though I'm not real familiar with some of the FCS/D-IAA teams, I'll give it a shot...

It would be interesting to compare what the Herald had in today's paper for the season FB opener vs. what the Forum did for the Bison. The Bison had a great pregame spread and pregame coverage. The forum also ahd a great VB story. I wonder if the Herald has the ablility or willingness to provide D1 coverage for FB and for the other sports. Based on past performance I have my doubts. The Forum really improved their coverage when the AC made the move.
The Herald had a "Game Day" preview of today's game...identical to what they have been doing the past few years.
It's funny that you say the Forum has increased their coverage of NDSU sports since their move to DI. All you ever hear from Bison fans is frustration about the lack of NDSU coverage and complaints about too much coverage for UND.
Either way, I would like to see UND coverage expand a bit. Especially since we are playing in a new conference. It would be nice to have some expanded knowledge about our conference opponents at least.

Lots of question marks for the Sioux (RB, WR, and new head coach). That being said, the Sioux will roll to a 38-13 victory against a good, but overmatched Javelina team.

There are a good number of people picking Texas A & M Kingsville to beat UND on the d2football.com messageboard. Fans, get out there, cheer loud and help the Sioux whoop these guys!
So I decided to check out this website just out of curiosity. There are a few people picking TAMUK but I would say that it's at least 7-1 in favor of UND...sorry I didn't take time to do the math...

I know I shouldn't be doing this, but I was browsing Bisonville and one of their posters started a topic stating Jordan May is ineligible (academics?) to play for the Sioux this year. Has anyone heard anything on this...the poster did not provide a link? As a Freshman, how could he be academically ineligible if he hasn't started classes yet?

Not to beat a dead horse here and yes it's my first post....you guys say that Valporaiso was like playing a D2 game our first year...Well i'll give you guys that and you say that playing Central Michigan, Ball State, Minnesota, and Wyoming don't even compare to you playing Texas Tech.....i'll tell you guys this.......and i'll leave it at that. WE NEVER ONCE PLAYED A D3 SCHOOL IN OUR TRANSISTION.....It's funny how you SUE fans can't even mention a game like that on here.......well like I said you can play your D3 teams and have fun
You may be right about not playing a NCAA III team...but I do recall you playing a certain NAIA school your first year of transition...

Texas Tech is preseason #14 this year...and should be just as good next year. This is not even close to the same thing as the N. Iowa scenario. If UND stays within four td's I would be quite happy. Even though there is next to no chance of winning, I am excited to see UND get this type of game.

wow, no it wont be. do you realize everyone thinks your stupid when you talk about this stuff? or anything for that matter? its so stupid to have the game in the metrodome. i don't care about alumni or attendence. the game MUST be played in ND. i can't even process how idiotic this is....
For a one and done game this is a good idea. I would say renew the rivalry at the Metrodome...play the next game at the Fargodome and then alternate between Fargo and GF. I do not want to see the game played in Minny every year...

I didn't hear the news report, so I may be wrong here. I apologize if I am.
Anyway, do we know this was a "big party"? I believe the noisy party or gathering ordinance merely requires that it be a gathering of 2 or more people. Unless reported otherwise, for all we know it may have simply been Oshie and VV hanging out.
Also, do we know alcohol was involved or is everyone just assuming that as well? Not that I would berate them for drinking after that game anyway. I wonder how many fans went out and got completely tanked after that loss in reaction to their disappointment? I won't fault any player for doing the same.
Just asking. I prefer to gather the facts before jumping all over people.
The report said 12 people were sent home and that three people were cited.

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet but 3 hours after they touched down in grand forks they get a loud party violation. This makes me mad. The cops should have atleast given them a warning. I no poeple who have like 3 of these warnings.
Not trying to bash anyone here...but do we know whether or not there have been any previous warnings?

I have tentative plans to head out to Denver if the Sioux win. However, I am supposed to meet up with my cousin in Sioux Falls. With the blizzard, I don't know if we will make it however. If you are interested in a ride out should the Sioux win and weather permits, let me know. I will have room for one or two people...

This was on the NBC hockey broadcast. Apparently, some of the blackhawks Troy Murray, Toews UND and Burish Wisconsin had a bet on last weekend's regional and since the BADgers lost to the Sioux Burish had to wear a fighting Sioux jersy on the team airplane to their game.

Johnny Toews currently playing against Detroit on NBC. Announcers shared a story about how Chicago dman Adam Burresh lost a bet to Toews and Blackhawk radio guy Troy Murray when the Sioux beat the badgers in the NCAA's last week. Burresh had to wear a Sioux jersey on the plane! Announcers very complimentary of Toews...

Not trying to start a pissing match here. I am well aware of NDSU's storied football tradition and it is one to be proud of. Just saying that the Bison were not a consistent playoff contender the few years leading into their transition. I would guess that most Bison fans would consider these teams as mediocre when compared to what expectations are at NDSU. Yet NDSU did quite well and probably turned some heads with how well they transitioned...as did SDSU.
UND on the other hand has been a playoff and championship contender in the few years leading up to their transition...even if it is a watered down D2. I believe that scheduling may be a bit more difficult for UND due in part to the successful transition of the Bison and Jacks, as well as the success of our team the past few years. Just my .02 cents...
