  1. Best comment of the night was by my 8-year-old daughter. While in the middle of hooting and hollering about some random play, my youngest daughter said "don't worry, dad, it's only college hockey." I turned to her and said college hockey mattered the most to me because it was my favorite, and then I asked her what hockey she likes best. She replied with "the NHL, obviously." I followed that by asking her why, to which my oldest said "because they don't just shoot the puck into the boards all the time!" Quite insightful, I thought.
  2. I don't see us winning tomorrow if we can't figure out how to break the puck out better and also keep the puck for longer than 5 seconds in the offensive zone.
  3. I am too. He was a heart-and-sould Bruin...kind of like Thornton, but I think they were fine letting Shawn go. It seems like they're still dealing with losing Boychuck. If Seidenberg and Chara were playing up to their "potential," it might not seem like such a glaring loss; but Seids hasn't been very impressive this year and Chara is definitely aging.
  4. Hopefully they've realized the conference breakup was a huge mistake, a la New Coke, and we can go back to WCHA Classic and CCHA classic.
  5. Last night was a good win...so was the game against Nashville...so was the game against Detroit...but the big question is what are they going to follow it up with? I'll be happy if they don't follow it up with their worst game of the season (to date) which has seemed to be the trend lately.
  6. Nope, it was actually his hip that contacted his head. The MC dude is like 6'5" and he lost his edge and fell down just as Rau came in to engage him. Bad luck.
  7. Sorry, but the MC player was in the process of stumbling when his head made contact with Rau's hip. I rewound it several times and I certainly can't fault Rau on that one. He was in a good position to take or make a hit and the MC guy just fell.
  8. That would be excellent. The B's have had talks with Edmonton about Eberle the past year and a half, but it never materialized. I don't think PC was willing to deal the picks and/or Boychuk at the time. I'd take Hall, though!
  9. He finally gets Poganski right. Took nearly two periods! We need a butchered name bingo or something. Edit: drinking game for sure.
  10. How many different pronunciations are there for Poganski?
  11. Stecher was a UNO commit, and I believe St. Clair had committed to CC as well.
  12. I hate shootouts, but does Parks strike you guys as a high percentage shootout type? Seems to me he makes a living getting garbage goals. I'm curious why we didn't see guys like the schmaltz bros instead of Parks and/or Mac in the shootout.
  13. To be fair, the home vs road competition has been quite lopsided so far. Everyone has beaten Wisconsin & CC this year.
  14. This team seems to play harder for its road fans than the home fans. It baffles me why they lay so many "stinkers" at home.
  15. It's almost to the point where it would be beneficial to be able to take potential recruits on road trips!
  16. I'm no fan of the B1G, but in all seriousness we are only a year and a half into this whole realignment. Tough to draw any conclusions until we get a few more years in.
  17. ...and former UND women's player Jordan? I believe they are all siblings.
  18. DirecTV is the same for everyone once you get into channels above 100. FCS is located in the 600 tier, and will be the same in GF as it is in MSP.
  19. Case in point: the entire state of Minnesota. Edit: Well...maybe just the metro.
  20. The ice sheet is 200 x 97, seating capacity for hockey is in the neighborhood of 15K
  21. Me too, Blackheart. Granlund was hardly pushed into the goalie, and he made little to no effort to get up despite LaPanta's attempt to sway the viewer otherwise.
  22. If they were at home, I'd tend to agree with you. But, this team has kind of taken on a "road warrior" mentality the last couple years. It seems like they play some of their best games away from the Ralph.
  23. Madison is a great trip. We stayed right next to the Capitol. I would recommend Marigold Kitchen for breakfast and Ian's Pizza any time (great late-night). The bars down State Street are great. Wando's was fun post game. Friday pregame We met a crew of welcoming Badger fans at the Red Shed who were kind enough to inform us that the Kohl Center doesn't serve alcohol. They promptly bought us Long Island teas to hold us over. I'm bummed this series is over deer opener because I'd be there for sure.
  24. I thought I read on here a while back that there is no chance they would upload these types of videos to YouTube because it is part of the in-arena game experience for ticket holders.
  25. You mean you don't just take the U.S. congressional approach and vote for it to find out what's in it?
