He was away from the boards and hit from behind. If that's not 5 I don't know what is. -

If LJ would stop whiffing he might have a G by now. -
Does this years('14-'15) forward group deserve more credit?

It's difficult to assess, because when I look back and see a guy like Matt Frattin listed on the '07-'08 team, I think of the Matt Frattin from the '10-'11 team, even though he wasn't nearly the same player. Same could be said for Trupp and Malone. I like our current group just fine. For me it's been a while since I felt this confident about lines 3 & 4. When we can put 21-13-14 out there as our 3rd unit and they control play for 90 seconds it's a pretty good indicator of the level of talent on the forward group. The ability to work hard is a talent in its own right, too. -
Why all the ASG hate? We all know there won't be any defense, but nobody forces people to watch it. I watched both the skills competition and the game with my kids, and we enjoyed it a lot. Sure, it wasn't hockey in its purest form, but that's not the point. My girls ate it up! I'd say overall it was a very positive experience for me & my girls, even though it was more of a sideshow. The one thing I will say is watching the skills competition on DVR is the ONLY way to do it. Too much BS to fast-forward through to get to the actual meat of the broadcast.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2014-15 season

This ^ And why is it such an injustice for one guy to vote us #2 when the KRACH and PWR currently agree with him? -
I realize Minnesota is struggling and in the danger zone in the PWR, and I take as much enjoyment as anyone in the current state of things; but you'd think Sioux fans would be the first group to understand that there is still a lot of hockey to be played and that teams still have time to right the ship and save their season at this point. While they certainly can't afford any more slip-ups in their conference games, Minnesota has a pretty good opportunity to help themselves at the North Star College Cup this weekend.

Hey-oh! The other day, after giving her bedroom walls the final coat, I asked her if she wanted to sit and watch it dry, or go watch the Bruins. Her reply was "That would be like watching the Red Wings, let's go watch the B's!" Again, quite insightful! Edit: Copyrigt Goon, all rights reserved.

Best comment of the night was by my 8-year-old daughter. While in the middle of hooting and hollering about some random play, my youngest daughter said "don't worry, dad, it's only college hockey." I turned to her and said college hockey mattered the most to me because it was my favorite, and then I asked her what hockey she likes best. She replied with "the NHL, obviously." I followed that by asking her why, to which my oldest said "because they don't just shoot the puck into the boards all the time!" Quite insightful, I thought.
-
I don't see us winning tomorrow if we can't figure out how to break the puck out better and also keep the puck for longer than 5 seconds in the offensive zone.
-
I am too. He was a heart-and-sould Bruin...kind of like Thornton, but I think they were fine letting Shawn go. It seems like they're still dealing with losing Boychuck. If Seidenberg and Chara were playing up to their "potential," it might not seem like such a glaring loss; but Seids hasn't been very impressive this year and Chara is definitely aging.
-
Hopefully they've realized the conference breakup was a huge mistake, a la New Coke, and we can go back to WCHA Classic and CCHA classic.
-
Last night was a good win...so was the game against Nashville...so was the game against Detroit...but the big question is what are they going to follow it up with? I'll be happy if they don't follow it up with their worst game of the season (to date) which has seemed to be the trend lately.

Nope, it was actually his hip that contacted his head. The MC dude is like 6'5" and he lost his edge and fell down just as Rau came in to engage him. Bad luck.
-
Sorry, but the MC player was in the process of stumbling when his head made contact with Rau's hip. I rewound it several times and I certainly can't fault Rau on that one. He was in a good position to take or make a hit and the MC guy just fell.

That would be excellent. The B's have had talks with Edmonton about Eberle the past year and a half, but it never materialized. I don't think PC was willing to deal the picks and/or Boychuk at the time. I'd take Hall, though!
-
He finally gets Poganski right. Took nearly two periods! We need a butchered name bingo or something. Edit: drinking game for sure.
-
How many different pronunciations are there for Poganski?
-
Stecher was a UNO commit, and I believe St. Clair had committed to CC as well.
-
I hate shootouts, but does Parks strike you guys as a high percentage shootout type? Seems to me he makes a living getting garbage goals. I'm curious why we didn't see guys like the schmaltz bros instead of Parks and/or Mac in the shootout.
-
To be fair, the home vs road competition has been quite lopsided so far. Everyone has beaten Wisconsin & CC this year.
-
This team seems to play harder for its road fans than the home fans. It baffles me why they lay so many "stinkers" at home.
-
It's almost to the point where it would be beneficial to be able to take potential recruits on road trips!
-
I'm no fan of the B1G, but in all seriousness we are only a year and a half into this whole realignment. Tough to draw any conclusions until we get a few more years in.

...and former UND women's player Jordan? I believe they are all siblings.
