I think they ‘hate UND weekends’ based on some pretty poor behaviors exhibited by some of our less than friendly fans. A minority to be sure, and everyone has them, but from an old man’s perspective probably earned. These two teams always get after it against each other and it’s going to be a good series.

And those games were officiated by an NCHC rookie ref who is no longer on the roster. My wife said it was a sh@tshow (she was there with her parents) so I watched the archives on NCHCtv. Holy cow! Might as well have been reffed by the DU alumni association! I think they will be a tough out, but they tend to give us ‘opportunities’.

Based on what I see, season ending suspensions are the right thing. I hate that sh@t

DU shorthanded? No way…

Watched the games, was in Omaha this weekend (my wife’s aunt passed). The officiating was a sh@tshow. Omaha was unable to play a physical game, getting called for ridiculous penalties. One ref, wet behind the ears, called everything they did either interference or cross checking. I never saw one handed cross checking before! Mavs had like 8-10 penalties per game. Couldn’t sustain any flow. Actually, the first periods were played even, before Ref #19 took center stage. It was shameful. Hope we don’t get him next weekend.

What I saw was an opponent that plays an honest game. They don’t have the recruiting power for various reasons, but are relatively solid sans the ‘flash’. They lack the scoring threat of a UND or Denver, but make up for it with tenacity. Sometimes, that’s not enough, but tonight it was
