  1. And lastly, though the game view experience at the Denny Sanford Premier Center was great, the food and movement options, as well as the bathroom options were awful…
  2. Was NOT impressed with BU. And, I thought it was the Mavs game. Outplayed the rodents for long stretches, made some very costly mistakes. Especially the second goal. I had just stated to my wife ‘can’t do that!’ (On the failure behind the net) and *boom* in the back of the net!!!
  3. Agree, that’s why Blaise lost the room (and the momentum) in Omaha.
  4. Famous (or infamous) last words. This is the regional that poor efforts go to die in. For all the talk about whether they’ve got the skill versus previous teams, the size versus their competition and their desire, the only thing that matters is can they put together 60 minutes of shut down defense and take advantage of offensive opportunities when they present themselves? Yeah, yeah ‘speed kills’ and all that, but not at the expense of sound decision making. Go Sioux!
  5. Just got done watching the Big Ten championship game between Michigan and Michigan State. The boy had better put on their big boy pants. Both teams hit like Mack trucks.
  6. “At one point”. You have to remember that several of the teams we played early in the season were young. Now the freshman are de facto sophomores. Teams adjust, good teams adjust well. Life in the fast Lane baby!
  7. I don’t know, in my opinion every goaltender should prepare mentally to play every game. Injuries, cold starts, the yips and everything else that can happen might happen!
  8. I don’t disagree, Denver was far away the better team, it’s just that it wasn’t decided until the last six minutes. Anyone of those open rushes by Omaha could’ve ended up with a tie game previous to that. Hockey is a fun sport, momentum can shift in a second. and quite frankly, the first two Denver goals were not exactly highlight goals.
  9. I get that, but it was still a one shot game with six minutes to go. With that said things could’ve turned out very differently. so I think dumped is strong language. I’ll also say that some of the penalties called on Omaha were “soft“.
  10. Maybe we could build a city out of ice fishing sheds! Paint them all green!
  11. Wow, some things never change. It never ceases to amaze me how far some people can fall when they once had a good life. you never can tell. I have nephew out east who is the same way, it never stops. Had his own business, and a beautiful family, and now that’s gone.
  12. I honestly believe that’s not forgone conclusion. Depends on what team shows up. If they can execute their breakout and manage center ice, I think it’s gonna be a hell of a game. They do have to prove themselves for the last regional they faced Minnesota in out in Colorado. They have beaten a lot of really good teams this year, and I expect them to bring an edge.
  13. I wouldn’t say they got dumped’. It was 2-1 with 6 to go.
  14. Ahhhhh MAVPUCK! I wouldn’t exactly call them fans, more of a self promotional vehicle. Have you ever listened to one of their podcasts? Number one, they don’t know much about hockey even though they tell you their experts. Number two, they just blather on. I tried to listen to a couple of them, it was horrendous.
  15. What is the last year for the Covid ‘bonus year’?
  16. Never said ‘pushed out’, just maybe not the best season exit interview/review. Maybe he took the advice in a new venue, maybe the makeup of our boys helped that. I just remember him as a center ice hanger, not a back checker. Never said he wasn’t talented.
  17. The same goes for Berg. He does not demonstrate a 200 foot game in my opinion. Much has been made about the reason he left Omaha being little or no power playtime. I think it was more than that. I think he was being asked to do things that he did not wish to do. He saw an open door and he took it. He’s a good goalscorer don’t get me wrong, but I wouldn’t have considered him “Omaha’s best player”. I would put them in the same category as Jimmy Glynn a role-player to be sure, but not an All-Star.
  18. Could be the fact that the NCHC is reaching an equilibrium, ie the other teams are getting better both defensively and to a lesser degree offensively. Starman had it right, our bottom 4 would be playing for top 4 in most other conferences.
  19. They didn’t out talent us. They out worked us. Say what you want, but they have 4 balanced lines who deliver effort on every shift. If they avoid mistakes, that is hard to keep at bay.
