Is it too late to sacrifice a chicken, or get a priest to exercise this poor mojo. -

My guess, Isaac is going to move on to be a HC elsewhere with Olson. I cannot fathom Schmidt is going to go through this next year. Offense stagnet, QB play has regressed and the O-line has also regressed in the run game blocking/push. This is gross to listen to on Radio. -

That’s what the Oracle of Delphi told me. -

Offense needs to get their heads out of their butts. Can’t let their offense experiment and find plays that work. Need to be the Bullies from the Valley on offense. -

Well, just finished consulting the Oracle at Delphi. The Pythia said, “the offense must play to win or a depleted secondary may get exploited” I take that as we better start fast and score TD’s or we will have another close loss. -

Will Javance be ready? Wouldn’t mind seeing him in some sort of Brockstar and get some runs. Need to start fast and have a good run game! Limit there offensive touches, in doing so, gets them out of rhythm and limit adjustments against our D. I would expect them to try to replicate what the Dakotas did to us on defense. -

Possibly, but if and I mean IF there is a a change, we need to get a quality QB coach in to develop the quarterbacks. Hedburg did a great job of that at NDSU in my opinion. -
Maybe that’s their reward for beneficial Big Sky reffing. 😉

Beginning of the year we were attacking on offense, YSU and Southern Illinois’s wins were impressive, after those games it seemed the offense was not as dynamic/diverse in the pass or run game. No Z hurt a lot because because how he finishes games with his runs, Brunelle is not a Z yet. Considering who we had back and new everything this season went better than I thought, but finishing close games need to be fixed ASAP. Winning needs to be a habit for this program. These type of seasons/games are not good for my blood pressure.

All I can say is when you play offense not to lose, and the other team is playing defense to win you lose….result not good. Overtime, I wish we tried to let them kick a FG to tie instead of trying to force the turnover. too upset to say more, need to sleep this off like a bad hangover -

I agree, my point is our offense needs to play that complete game. (SDSU will try to recreate what USD and NDSU have done) This game is going to be a legit playoff regular season game. Our defense will do fine, just need the offense to do more of its part. No more slow starts, need to get get out fast like we did against YSU and Southern Illinois. X factor is our home crowd, we need to be loud and get them to have false starts. Louder the fans, more effective of a pass rush we can have. -

I think they will blitz Jerry and try to get in passing lanes (bat down passes) and throw off timing of his throws. With the blitz they will get more guys in the box to stuff the run. If we cannot get sustained drives against them, their offense can wear down our defense. -

We need a strong start, so that doubt sits in on their side. Looking at ISU Red game SDSU is big, if we play fast and agressive we should off set that and win by at least two scores if we play clean. They blitzed a lot against last week, I’m sure they will try again to throw Jerry off. ISU Red was able to get solid runs on the perimeter and up the middle. I think Jerry can hurt them with his scrambles. Hopefully we can get the run game going. It will be closer just because I can’t imagine them starting this game as putrid as they did last week plus their playoff hopes are on the line. -
Yes Idaho State loss was considered bad loss. Wyoming win was not as good as Western Illinois beat 5 ranked SDSU in over time last game of year and our Cal Poly win was so late that they didn’t even think of us. we were 2-2 against ranked teams Western was 2-3 their reward was to play at non scholarship Dayton first round. Loss to 2-9 ISU home killed us SDSU loss to ISU Blue is just as bad, that’s why this will be a legit playoff game this week. SDSU knows if they lose they are done.

Need to create their own energy, lethargic play reminds me of Northern Arizona years ago.

Hopefully the Schmidt won’t be like how Dick Vermiel was with the Eagles where all the practice/meetings burns them out. Vermiel learned the happy medium in his 2nd stint with the Rams and Chiefs. Team is playing like the post NDSU hangover and then some.

Compared to two years ago, NDSU’s defense is way better in size and speed. Inside zone scheme struggle because, from what I saw there edge guy would get off blocks and limit yards gained and interior lineman are tough to move. NDSU’s offense struggled in my opinion because our defense is fundamentally improved in scheme and tackling. But also how, especially 2nd half was able to have longer drives (aided by penalty at times) to keep them out of rhythm. Lastley it’s tough to stop a championship team when the game on the line. NDSU has that swag. Hopefully, UND gets there sooner, last year and past I doubted. This year we are damn close, ideally this years team can get there. Bring in a few more explosive players (fitting in the JYD mentality) in the portal …. and a competent FG kicker….this group can get there. I saw the transformation in the 90’s of UND football, I am thinking this group we have can have that same impact.

Looked at fan base comments of WSU on Freund after 10-7 loss to Oregon State. Similar gripes as ours. Pass 3rd and 10, three yard pass plays and running the ball well and suddenly throwing the ball.

Going in I said we need to play clean on offense and special teams play. Offense was not clean turnovers and not scoring inside 5. Special teams missed FG and penalty on reverse. Defense played like Junkyard Dogs today.
