The boys had a real "buzz" several times in yesterday's game. That was great to see, as the exhibition game didn't seem to have any of that. I'm cautiously optimistic about the season after seeing how they can play when they show up.

I liked when the question of "what was good tonight" came up, and was followed by about 20 seconds of silence.

I've never seen a season opener that left me less optimistic about a season than this one. Pathetic showing. What does this remind me of? How about a few years ago, when they were ranked top 5 pre-season, but missed the playoffs.

To say this was a disappointment is an understatement. They look like a terrible team, frankly.

I could see Schmaltz & Croal on the 4th, making it a super solid line. But Jammer is too good a player for that role, IMO. Maybe Littler can get acclimated by playing down there?

I'm no expert, but it looked to me like he was pulling the ball down by jerking his shoulder down during those throws. The ones where he wasn't trying to throw a fast ball were the ones he placed well.

The difficult part of deciding the roster early in the year is that the season can be over before it gets going if young guys cost you games. So little wiggle room with the schedules that UND plays.

Encouraging to see two undrafted freshmen getting invites. They both put up impressive numbers in their leagues, and could be better than people might expect.

Looks amazing. Who do we pair him with to penetrate and finish? Perhaps Wilkie & Kunz for some size & net-front?

Exactly. Very little confidence in this team as they limp into the NCAA's, with a starting GT who hasn't played in weeks.

Gameday threads vs. general threads - the expectation should always be different. I'll be rational and measured after I get my cathartic rant out of the way!

Keep on focusing on "making it fun" Brad. Sure, your team might get spanked like little kids, but heaven forbid they take things too seriously.

UND has been losing steam and playing worse for months now. Denver was the peak of the season. Then the slide down to where they are now. No jump. Poor playmaking. Where is the focus?

Both of ND's goals have been good plays, but my God, where is the focus most of the rest of the time? Omaha has been crisp and very aware of where each other are on the ice. UND, on the other hand, keeps fumbling, stumbling, bumbling. Get your A game going for the 3rd!

Two of the last four weeks have been absolute crap from this team. Very little confidence that these guys can string 4 together at the end anymore.

Better play in the 2nd half of the 2nd period, but even after losing last night, they had no jump again today. Waiting until halfway through the game to start playing ain't what championship teams do.

UND has not been impressive at all this weekend. Could change with 2 periods to go, but not looking good. They don't seem to know how or be willing to work hard enough to overcome constant pressure by Omaha. Guess what, you are going to get nothing but that in the playoffs.

I saw NOTHING out of this team tonight, until the final 4 minutes. You can't play 4 minutes and be a championship team.

Happy to eat a little crow here. After the Saturday loss at CC, I said "this is not a special team." While that was in a game day thread, which I always maintain is reserved and should be understood to be for single day reactions (not higher level discussions), I would have to say that yes, they did look special tonight. Congrats on winning the Penne, and for crying out loud dont' stop at this!

Constantini can jersey pop all he wants, but he's still playing for a team that probably won't make the playoffs = jackass.

So many fumbles so far in this game. Where did the skill go? Get your focus on boys!

Scotty's going to have his team fired up tonight. I just hope it's not one of those games where they take cheap shots and injure someone.

What a pathetic weekend. Haven't seen the likes of this since....well, last year's team.
