I was not exactly sober last night, and not very eloquent. I'll attempt to remedy that here. UND's defensive zone pursuit of the puck and ability to simply get it out of the zone is perhaps the worst I've ever seen. Not moving their feet, not playing with jump defensively. Losing puck competitions and allowing far too many passes within the zone. Berry's post game comments: "We have to be predictable for each other. Need to play 60 minutes, not 40." Same old, same old. This team apparently can't learn from film or games lost. Are any of our 3 goaltenders good? Not from what I've seen. One or two inspiring saves, offset by bunches of savable goals. Outlook? Yet another season where UND misses the playoffs. This will be the 3rd time in Berry's relatively short tenure, and the first time with as much talent as he has on paper. People need to start asking if we have the right coach, honestly. He's a great guy, but is he a great coach? UND deserves to have a GREAT coach.

To bring thins back to "point", UND sucks this season, after being a top 4 team consensus preseason. One of the worst let downs of all time.

Exactly. I feel like it should be ok to vent frustrations on a single game thread. But, the fact that this team has fallen from "Top 4" to "Pussies" this season is a travesty. Berry, what the hell, man?

I hate to say it, honestly, but this team is as much of a bunch of "cake eaters" as I have ever seen at UND. Seriously, what a bunch of pussies.

To be honest, coming into tonight, this team was a bit of an unknown. However, tonight settles things. They SUCK, End of story. End of season.

How is it so incredibly easy to score against these guys? Once again, 2 goals on 12 shots. But our xG probably has us in the lead.

IDK, but I wouldn't place ANY sort of wager on this team! We never know what to expect.

Last night was some of the "same old", some of the "new". That start was indeed atrocious. Just embarrassing. I'm struggling to understand how DeRidder can be so wildly hot and cold repeatedly, after being so solid in past years. However, they shut things down pretty well after that. Played the vast majority of the game in the offensive zone. 70 plus shot attempts. I think UND's offense is going to start producing more as the season goes forward. Need to play with more physicality & clean up all the unforced errors. Also need to learn that holding the blue line is not worth giving up breakaways. But, I still think this team is capable of making a big run, if they can just put the pieces together.

This weekend was actually hockey that I recognize from Berry's era at UND. Not crazy about the passive box on defense (would like to see them challenge a little more), but at least it is working now.

Ok, so instead of calling "Gaber gets 2 in the 3rd", I should have called "UND blows the lead yet again". Oh, well, 2 pts is the best they've done in 3 games.

Now wouldn't that be nice. This ain't about xG, it's about dedication to defense and moving as a unit (not breaking down into chaos).

How can you describe this season, except to say "what the HELL"?

Wow, this team CANNOT play a complete game, and the giveaways and lack of ability to pass are just pathetic at times. Not a good team; people need to stop complimenting their talent. Talent is as talent does.

Well, the sun did indeed come up this morning. Having said that, the sun will be setting soon on this season in the absence of a miracle turnaround. Playoff hopes could be effectively killed by Christmas, and that scenario would be the third time Berry's teams have missed the NCAA's in his relatively short tenure.

I apologize for repeating myself. But damn, has any UND ever been so highly rated pre-season and then sucked so incredibly badly? Seriously...ever?

I can't take any more. This is the most disgusting product UND has put on the ice in forever. Weak, sucky.

SCSU announcers are not even paying attention to this game anymore...because it was over in the 2nd. Weakest team since 2001.

Has any UND team ever played so soft in their own zone. I remember UND rocking other players when they had the chance. Now, they "zone" and wait for the other team to score. Weak, lame.

What a bunch of pussies. I have not been more disappointed in any team ever.

I know it may be bashed as a Nancy-negative assessment, but damn - the "lows" are pathetic. The fact that UND barely scratched out a win at home against a middle of the pack team is just indicative of where they are now - a middle of the pack team.
