  1. Gfhockey, get off your damn phone and watch the game!
  2. Fair point. I believe St. Cloud is counted in the Twin Cities metro area, right? Something that "cities" folks forget is that most people in ND cheer for the same professional teams they do, and regularly make trips to watch these pro teams, in addition to supporting either UND or NDSU. In my younger days, I would attend about the same amount of Vikings and Twins games that my friends in the Twin Cites and Rochester areas would. UND is my number one by far, but I still support other (professional) teams and attend their games...I just have to get a hotel for a night or two instead of drive back to my house. Nice weekend away, but the best part is, I get to come home after. edit: same goes for concerts, if it isn't happening in GF or Fargo, the Cities are an easy little trip. Back on topics: What's up with the wooden cup....? Why did the coach lose it in that end of game brawl? What are the good games to watch this weekend, being UND is off?
  3. I can answer this one for you with their same, tired old argument. There is nothing else to do in North Dakota. There are a "bajillion" more things to do in the Twin Cities Metro area, thus, the difference in attendance. (They don't ever include that their metro area is 4 million or so, and GF's is 100,000 or so)
  4. PASSION is the difference here. UND fans take the day off 6 months in advance, if needed, to make the trip possible. Step up the passion!
  5. I think it will be successful, especially when the other teams' fan bases can show up in higher numbers. Come on Mankato people, it's an easy drive up 169!
  6. I only watched about 30 percent of the UMD vs UMN-TC game, but it was absolutely awful listening to the "homerism" of the announcers. UMD has a team full of lousy no talent divers and talkers is the take away point. At one point, the color man actually said "GO Tom", or whatever the player's name was for the Gophers, as he started skating out of his d-zone. Did anyone else catch that? I think it was after Farley did his embellishment and the color guy was all fired up and about to cry. I was pulling for UMD so hard in that game, seemed like they were the better team for long stretches when I watched.
  7. Bulldogs playing excellent!
  8. Of course of course.
  9. Electric atmosphere at the X I see.
  10. Lots of talking on the ice, I was waiting for a fight. Could happen tomorrow. I thought UND dominated this game, shots won't show it, but UND played great!
  11. I think it is cool Dan Hammer is commenting on this thread.
  12. So Al's bus is full, has anyone heard of a limo service or any other shuttles headed to Bemidji on friday?
  13. Anyone have a Bemidji hotel room they want to transfer to someone?
  14. I heard that Al's bus is full for the Bemidji trip. Good job people!
  15. The irony is priceless. You are talking about people in the same "small minded" manner that you just wrote about. You were a lot nicer when you were pretending to be someone other than watchmaker, now you are back to your condescending ways.
  16. Correct: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=69908
  17. I understand that players want to do what is best for their development, but what ever happened to wanting to come to UND to win a national title? We need a guy like Kristo who is an elite talent, AND bleeds green and white, who is committed to the program. Sick of UND being a bargaining chip or a stop on the road for these kids. As a fan, I would much rather have green banners accumulate instead of guys playing in the NHL. (Of course I would love it if we could have both.)
  18. Thanks...sounds like he won't be missed...on the ice, or off.
  19. Care to elaborate for those of us who missed it?
  20. I'm going to turn this around, and will be accused of green glasses, but: The UMN-TC campus players use the handshake line in the exact manner that they use the ref to hide behind. They are fully aware of the "sanctity" of the handshake line, and spout their mouths, etc during it, more than other programs do. I'm not happy that the UND players did what they did, but I understand it.
  21. Canadian fans in unison as Riley Barber announced as USA player of game: "YOU GOT BEAT!"
  22. 3-2 final. USA finishes second in the pool.
  23. Nasty 3rd period for USA.
  24. 3-1 slovakia
  25. Really? UND puts out great doctors, but also has great programs in PT, OT, medical laboratory science, athletic training. Brand new building coming....as a ND person, you should be proud of that! Craig Bohl coaches a football team, the careers above actually mean something. Bubba>Klieman.
