    News on Toews

If not the second coming of T. Zajac, then maybe just the second coming

    News on Toews

Tallon obviously knows what a losing team looks like. Just as obviously he hasn't watched the Sioux.

    News on Toews

Do you know if the 48 hour rule applies (as written in the chicago newpaper article) to unsigned players? Toews, as well as 4 others in camp, was leaving anyway and won't be there for the last two days, as the WJC team is being honored in Toronto, I believe.

So, has anyone been able to find out if any of the unsigned youngsters were in prospect camp yesterday (day 5, if the 48 hour rule is accurate?)?

    News on Toews

Didn't know the 48 hours rule. That makes Saturday's practice (or Friday's?) the last day for Toews, Skille, and Dowell, unless they are signed.
  7. Toews and Bolland switched teams and this time the red team won. Seems that both Dowell and Skille have been impressing the Chicago management at the prospect camp. If Chicago intends to sign youngsters to be part of the team this year, it would appear they'll make a run at these two as well as Toews.
  8. Hope you're right on Oshie. SL apparently decided not to start the FA clock ticking. Too bad some other teams aren't doing that. Would seem teams like the Blackhawks, at the bottom along with SL, would be just as smart, but I wouldn't bet on it.

    News on Toews

Chicago seems to be totally complacent about signing any free agents, so it seems that they will have no choice but to sign and play 18-20 year olds just to have a team. Maybe by the time these youngsters develop and reach free agency, the Blackhawks may be back in the mix, but will they spend the bucks to keep the players they've developed? Seems little chance that Toews won't be centering a Blackhawk line this fall. Edit: looks like the finally signed one free agent center, Arkhipov.
  12. Whatever they decide, you can bet on it being applied inconsistently
  13. Porter is now listed as #29 on the camp roster. Apparently he is in camp, unless it's another Porter?
  14. Q&A with Mike Haviland after day one of Blackhawk camp.

As is the norm for you here, another useful post. Gee, thanks, skippy BTW, we hope none of the current gopher netminders leave, for obvious reasons.
  17. I was looking for his name also. Must be generally higher round picks in the camp.
  18. Blackhawks prospect camp roster. Bochenski as well as other pros are also there taking part in the Jansen skating instruction only. Toews, as well as four other prospects from last year's gold medal Canadian WJC team, will leave camp two days early for Toronto, where the WJC team will be honored for their win last January. Famous gopher killer Tyler McGregor is in camp as a tryout invitee.

Generally drafted players take part in the prospect's camp. Can't find a schedule for a NJ camp either. Here are the lineups for the Blackhawks camp, scrimmages are free and open to the public for any of you in Chicago. Note several pros, including Bochenski, are at the camp taking part in the Dan Jansen skating instruction. None of the pros will take part in the scrimmages.

    NHL Draft!

Looked to me like Bo was playing really well right before the shoulder seperation. I think Ottawa jumped the gun in trading him, especially for Arnasen. They probably thought Arnasen might give them more scoring in a run to this year's Stanley Cup. Guess that didn't work out, and now their team has been shredded by free agency.

Actually, in the national championship game, the Wisco crowd can be heard chanting clearly "Eades is a goon" when he is on the ice. Near the end of the game, and following it, the Wisco crowd gave the Sioux team a standing O, including Eades as he skated with the trophy. The water bottle incident happened during the regular season at Wisco, and although Eades was the one squirted with the water bottle, Archie played a large role in the melee that ensued on the Wisco bench. Archie was led off the ice to the Sioux dressing room, and ran around on the concrete in the tunnels (in his skates, sparks flying all the way around on the concrete) and back up the ramp to the Wisco bench, and the brawl renewed. Can't believe we don't have a Sioux fan with a video of that game?
  23. You can find it in the player bios on the roster page.
  24. What's the place smell like? This should work, if you have one.
