Freshmen and sophomores for most WCHA teams will play a large part in the team's success. Is there anyone left in the WCHA with a Wisco-like (last season) junior and senior dominated team? If not in the WCHA, how about HE? It would seem we're not far away from a team of 22 and 23 year olds that doesn't have the name of UND, MN, Wisco, Denver, CC could well win the NCAA championship, as the teams with the high draft pick recruits will be playing mostly 18 and 19 year olds.

Some teams/coaches and fans do not value the all around play the Sioux coaches and fans do. One end of the ice players would simply not be able to continue to play every game for the Sioux coaches, until that player changed his play and worked both ends. No matter how may points the player may score while only playing in the offensive end. Neither Toews or Oshie had to sit out, since they came in two way players. Based on hype and points, Kessel deserved ROY. He went to the right place, he would have been sitting in GF until his game changed.

Where he ends up this fall likely depends on how he feels about his chances of playing with the Blackhawks this year. We sure have snagged a bunch of gophers on this site. I can get annoyed quickly on GPL with the volume of anti-Sioux sentiment, but, since it's expected, I ignore it and leave. Somehow, it seems that being born in the self proclaimed state of hockey gives those that are gopher fans some sort of innate ability to assume they know more than anyone anywhere else in the world when it comes to hockey. Here's a clue, no matter how many gopher posters want to set us straight here, it isn't going to do anymore good than a Sioux fan yapping away on GPL. And noone can po the goph fans more than Canadian Sioux fans.

How can you not get interested in playing the Sioux and Wisconsin. This spring the gophers looked exactly the same vs. Holy Cross as they did against Wisconsin in the third place game. A bubble team in the third place game is very interested in winning against a TUC. Would appear the gophers would have to be in that position to get interested. Regular season excellence, winning the WCHA, and sewing up on 1 seed prior to the final five makes all games there meaningless. Maybe you should just forfeit the final five when in that position. Lucia should promote WCHA champions getting to skip the final five.
