  1. This is what scares me...
  2. A different game with the lead...
  3. SAC ST and USD announcers referring to SAC St not being able to stop UND run game last week... Coaching.... USD controlling TOP and the ball and keeping it away from The SAC ST QB... Hmmm....
  4. We haven't seen the best of Danny and the offense yet? Wasn't this his 5th season as OC? What am I missing here? What is Danny waiting for?
  5. In that situation? Then the head coach should have been replaced the next day.
  6. OC from SDSU(passing coordinator there).
  7. You forget that Nielsen took Bubba's team(4-7) at UMD and won a natty the next year(15-0)...but maybe they got a bunch of superstars out of the portal....
  8. Would love to get your input on this... 2023 conference records: ALL MVFC SELECTIONS: TEAM - 1st - 2nd - TOTAL SDSU - 9-9=18 USD - 3-4=7 NDSU - 7-2=9 YSU - 0-5=5 UND - 1-4=5 UNI - 5-0=5 SIU - 1-1=2 IlSU - 3-3=6 MiSI - 2-2=4 MuSU - 0-0=0 InSU - 0-2=2 WIU - 0-0=0
  9. This was never Tommy fault. I'm sure he always did his best. Again(I know I am a broken record)this is on Danny and Bubba. If Tommy really was the best QB option they could come up with, it makes some of the play calling and in-game decisions even more suspect. Tommy was an average game manager and did well against bad to average teams and was not good against stiff competition. I am looking forward to the next chapter to see which QB steps up and how the offense is tailored to his strengths and weaknesses. Best of luck to Tommy. If we can run the ball on our opponent will we rely on the run or will we continue to outsmart ourselves? I imagine Kaminsky father was incredibly frustrated watching this team.
  10. Extended after a horrendous coaching job in 2021. Talk about what ifs….
  11. Again I disagree. Which game do you think this box score is from? How much control did the OL have over this miserable game plan?
  12. Best case is likely 3-2 heading down to Fargo. At this point, that will not go well and then we return home to host UNI. The trend line seems to be moving lower with the exception of a massive bump this season vs Bison. Its not all that unlikely that we could be heading to Youngstown at 3-4 and in a "must-win".
  13. This is all very true. As of this moment, the win vs the Bison this fall looks more like just a perfect alignment of the stars than an actual shift in very much. The Bison improved a bunch this season and we just went into the tank as a team.
  14. I respectfully disagree. Waletzko was harder to miss on film and on the field due to his size. If you are not on one of the top 3 teams, you better really stick out in the games or on film. If UND just beats USD and doesn't just crap the bed at UNI, How many first teamers are those tow things worth? I would say several.
  15. What are you doing in about 5 years? 2024: 6-6 2025: 7-6 first round exit 2026: 6-6 2027: 5-7
  16. If UND plays to potential he is first team all-conference and earns some AA awards.
  17. We pretend that some of these guys don't know football, lots of them have coaches in the family and have been around football their entire lives. Some of the flaws on this staff are just so obvious.
  18. There will be more. Anyone with NFL or Championship aspirations will jump ship. 50/50 chance this team does not make playoffs next season.
  19. This goes back to coaching. Not even close to enough player development under this staff. Who was the great frosh that improved a bunch under this staff? Siegel was a great example. He is the type of player(there have been a few others) who should have developed into a consensus all American. It never happens at UND.
  20. Exactly my thoughts at the moment. The game was ours to lose.
  21. Schmidt knew it was time to get out of "Dodge" if he wanted his career climb to continue. This UND team has underperformed for years. How many underperforming clunkers in 2018? 2019? Schmidt knew. It's not like any of this is new?
  22. The Offensive sequence at end of 3rd qtr and start of the 4th was the game. That was our chance. Ball at mid field at end of qtr after a first down on 3 straight runs. Next 3 plays are two sacks and an incomplete pass. We take the lead on that drive and the game is ours. No idea why Danny called a pass at that moment other than he probably had too much time to think about the call between quarters.
  23. My info tells me you are 100% correct. Excellence is not the goal every day.
  24. Nobody in FCS has enough talent on their roster for the current UND coaching staff to win a national title. The proof is available to all over the last decade and I would say especially since 2018. How many games has UND had major coaching errors? Even Saturday, did they have no idea that Sac St Qb was elusive? No plan b? No plan C? Did the OC not have a game plan to slow down the game if we could not stop the QB? Football isn't rocket science. If we run the ball last Saturday on every play in the second half, I personally think UND wins. That's it. Same players, same setting, same opponent. If you disagree look at some of our possessions in the second half, after the D had come to life.
  25. DeBoer just has better players than all the other teams and he has had better players at all his coaching stops...(SARCASM)
