When do we worry about Holinka getting poached? Another good year?
Hope not. Think he is very solid.

Wait til teams get bounced from the playoffs and see how many transfer. They typically wait til the season is over. I would imagine NDSU will have plenty.
Hopefully they will. We will have a better sense of this in a week.

So you and midwestern know for 100% fact that these players are transferring out because of Bubba? 100% fact?
I can only speak for myself, but of course I don’t KNOW the motivation of every player in the portal, but to think the season and the way so much of it transpired does not have an effect is silly.
if we had won the conference and we’re hosting a playoff game at the Alerus center on Saturday, at this very moment no UND player would be in the portal.
What effect did the season have on the UND football fan base and attendance at the last home game? It was snowing but if UND would have been 8-1, would the attendance have been so pathetic? -

Answer: yes. They see what many of us see.
To not think that several players were not muttering under their breath “WTF” vs NDSU is ridiculous.

Would you say it was perhaps...wait for it.....Bubba's fault the way it was handled?
No I blame the President of the university or how about God?

I meant to put 'sick' in quotes but missed it.
Lots of layers to the Otis situation and the way it was handled.

I'm guessing part of it is him being upset cuz he wasn't allowed to travel and play after being sick all week and not able to practice.
You still believe he was really sick?

What is happening here! This team has to know how close they were to a great season, coming off of a great performance last spring. Have a lot of these guys just lost faith in Bubba?
I'm really afraid this fall was Bubba's window at UND and its now closed. For all our sakes, I hope I am wrong, but the 4th down vs NDSU was likely the symbolic pinnacle of the Bubba era at UND.

Fewer headaches next year. Feel free to let the door hit your ungrateful ass on the way out.
I guess now we can discuss his practice punctuality and attendance? Will be interesting to see who takes a chance....and its a big chance on him.

Shoot, I had heard rumors about that, but was hoping.

I guess I'd be curious how many kids are transferring away from other schools like SDSU, Montana, Southern Illinois, USD etc.. Not sure if our number of transfers is high, or if this is par for the course on transfers for most schools?
If comparing, need to compare who the transfers are. Guys who have actually played or guys who have not played any meaningful minutes. A sophomore transferring who has played in a handful of snaps in a handful of games is much different IMO than a sophomore who has played meaningful minutes or even started.

Here is the 2-deep from SDSU: In BOLD are the guys who are gone as of right now, either eligibility is up or portal. Krzanowksi is coming back as is Maag. Anyone have any info on Jalen Morrison or Noah Larson? As of right now the offense comes back almost intact besides Waletzko.

Every single fan base (including those 70 miles south of UND) complain about play calling and time managment. It is a constant at every level of football. If anyone thinks it will magically be "fixed" they are going to be disappointed because it isn't always black and white. This isn't saying it can't get "better" but what that means is 100% subjective.
As for penalties, while there was a spurt where there were some untimely penalties, UND was one of the least penalized teams in the FCS this year (top 10 in fewest penalties and penalty yards per game) and easily the least penalized team during conference play. Again, still room to get "better" but they were actually pretty good as a whole this year in penalties.
Game/clock management is NOT 100% subjective. The infamous 4th down at -20 and the Timeout coming out of the half at vermilion are NOT subjective. I would also say that the 4th down “trick play” vs MSU and subsequent bad clock management is not very subjective either. Some of the rest could be argued in multiple ways, but those instances are just football 101 and are ridiculous.
I agree when it comes to penalties, UND was pretty good with some untimely penalties early in year, but overall very good.

Bubba had some blunders this year in play calling and time (and time out) management. My expectation is those get fixed in 2022.
Also, I'd like to see things like false starts and procedural issues dealt with in fall camp long before they show up on the game field.
Mandatory, not sure what it will take, but those things can no longer be tolerated.

In English next time.
Anyway, since you don't know SH and Davidson got in through auto-bid and will never ever ever in our lifetime get an at-large.
Explain how USD and SIU are getting in ahead of UND consistently? The answer is they aren't.
USD and SIU got in over UND because we LOST both games head to head. As was the situation in every game this fall, sans Utah State, UND could have won but didn't.

I have made myself very clear about where I stand. To ask for a change right now is a complete waste of time. To bitch and complain everyday about whether or not to call a timeout is how sad its gotten on here. Bubba will be be here in 2022 for sure and 2023 if he chooses to finish it out.
Some of us are just sick and tired of the excuses. Football is not rocket science and is the sport where coaching is much more important than any other sport. This fall was a failure. The schedule is easier next fall, but after 8 years, I just don't see much changing as far as the results.

Robertson makes more sense with the depth at that spot. Less so with Nelson leaving though. Urwiler was looking at a ton of playing time next fall.
i hate to see anyone leave who has played and especially played early in their careers, likely will take a minimum of 6 recruits to replace Robertson, Nelson and Urwiler. That just sucks.

@Midwestern Hawk I stand corrected. I clearly don't understand the thought process for some of these, specifically Urwiler / Robertson. It's time to log out until the smoke settles. Who knows how bad this could get.
Hopefully it won't get much worse, IMO we will know the extent of the losses by next Monday. Lots of factors likely involved, but the season results can't help.

By expectations do you mean:

You would think, logically, that players would be entering sooner than later, correct? Why would players be waiting to enter the portal?
Or am I reading your post wrong? Of course there is always a handful of walk ons that won’t be on the roster next year, but that’s the case with every college football team, every year.If you’re implying that there will be more ‘Nelson’ type players, we’d be finding that out soon. Or at least that would make the most sense to me.
I think will be in the clear by this time next week as far as the portal, aren’t individual meetings held this week? Also think a couple more may not return for that 6th year thing.

It’s not about liking Bubba, he is a tough guy not to like. He has done a great job assembling the Jimmy’s and joes to win it all. There are some holes on this falls team but overall we stacked up pretty well with the best in FCS from a personnel standpoint.
