  1. I completely agree with the top 25-40 FBS schools, but lets face it there are alot of BAD FBS schools. There is no sport where coaching is more important than it is with football. A good coaching staff gets 2+2 to equal 5, a great coaching staff gets 2+2 to equal 6 and a bad coaching staff gets 2+2 to equal 3. IMO Mizzou had a terrible defensive game plan, were slow to adjust, and need to work alot more on tackling and angles. If Mizzou lined up against a top SEC West team last Saturday they lose by 55.
  2. The SEC West is far better than the SEC East and the Top of the SEC West is far far better than the bottom of the SEC East. Its like comparing Illinois and Ohio State because they are in the BIG. I watched the MO st - Mo game and there was very little tackling on either side. We'll find out this week how good Mo State is, but saying MO is good because they are in SEC is ridiculous. The top FBS teams ARE far better than the the top FCS teams, but a ton of FBS teams are along ways from the top.
  3. They looked awful vs Portland state too. PSU was one turnover away from a win.
  4. That would be good news. Need to build depth at lb so we can keep up pressure on qbs, he also brings some size to ilb along with donnel. Disterhaupt played a helluva game but I noticed him catching running backs a couple of times.
  5. Everybody on the schedule scares me if we can't pound the rock and control the game. Defensively much of lb and db crew is green and/or thin. Need to keep them on sideline til a little more seasoned.
  6. Who is better USD or Mo St? Watched vs Mizzou yesterday. Looked like prett good o and no d.
  7. How good is Drake? Non schOlarship FCS?
  8. Utah skill players are way beyond what Iowa had on last year's team. Also the defensive line especially for Utah was far better. I would guess that at least a dozen of Utah's players from last night will be drafted when eligible. At the time of the games Iowa was ranked much higher than Utah was yesterday, but rankings this time of year are worth zero. Rankings start to matter near the end of September when a body of work can be analyzed. It will be interesting to watch the utes take on BYU next weekend.
  9. Isn't there another thread for NDAC talk?
  10. Any idea on why Rastas did not play? Did not see Geier either. How about Norbergs injury? Will Larson be back?
  11. Because Johanneson looks so fast running the jet sweep? JK, the jet sweep with he and mercer looked slow and poor timing. I don't think any of the Freshman played.
  12. Last night's Utah team was far better than Iowa was last season, and comparisons to Iowa State are a joke. LOTS of guys on that Utah team will make a living on Sundays in a couple years.
  13. I disagree. These games are good for recruiting, good for the players and coaches to measure where they are at, and good for the coffers $$$$. Beating BGSU in front of 5,000 fans is not an upset for a top 10 FCS team.
  14. With the offensive game plan UND brings to each game 5-15 yard TE routes need to be a staple every week. The only three throws I remember were an early throw for a first down, the TD, and the pick.
  15. Way better start than last season. The offense is miles ahead. How much better was Utah than Stony Brook? Very few comparable athletes IMO.
  16. You have a great looking team. Some maulers on both lines and some freaky skill guys. Have a great season and Win the PAC-12!
  17. If Cloyd makes that catch, it ends 30-16, and maybe 30-19 or 30-23.
  18. I think we will find that we played a Very talented and deep Utah team that barring too many injuries will challenge for the PAC 12 Mountain crown. UND played hard it was a game into the 4th quarter. Strengths: Santiago - even though he did not have much daylight to make a play the few times he did, I thought he looked just as dangerous as always and delivered when he could. Studsrud - made some good throws. Can make enough plays for UND to have an even better season than last year. Disterhaupt - was all over the field, made 14 tackles. Needs work: Tackling - great athletes make it tougher, but way too many missed tackles. Defensive pressure - makes a great Schmidt defense. Need to find more depth at LB and DB so fresh legs are on those blitzes as the game wears on. Throwing the ball into the middle of the field using tight ends. IMO if team keeps getting better and stays away from any more injuries will play a huge game at the Alerus in November and can make a run into December and possibly January.
  19. Defense looked good at times. Looked a little gassed at times. Too many missed tackles. Disterhaupt made lots of tackles. Minus injuries? Did any defenders get injured tonight? Oline will look much better the rest of the year, that was very stout defensive front.
  20. Seems like it was same 4 almost the entire game. Much more rotation last season. Staff must feel big drop after the first 5? I did see quite a bit of haas.
  21. I'll go out on a limb. UND shocks the football world. 27-23 upset. Und jumps out to early lead, defense creates multiple turnovers, Studsrud and co have no turnovers. After watching Portland state/BYU on Saturday if PSU creates a couple of turnovers they win.
  22. Giving BYU all they can handle. One turnover from a tie.
  23. Seems strange that a true freshman going down would cause this much change. What about the other true frosh ILB? Reynolds? Is he in the mix? Are Geier and Nevermann struggling? Was the other True frosh(Larson) that good or the other guys struggling that much? What about Safety? I guess Turner moving to OLB opens the door for Shannon who I have read could use another year to mature his body but is a great athlete. Salt Lake can' tget here fast enough!
  24. Thanks Teeder.
