I said the same thing after last weekend. Schmaltz isn’t top 6 caliber. Not a threat to score and isn’t a playmaker. Would be just fine in a 3rd/4th line role but need some production out of a 2nd line lw paired with McLaughlin/Blake.

He does everything right but has a one pump BB gun of a shot. I know adding strength/weight was a focus in the off-season but he still has a ways to go.

I was thinking the same thing. Can’t have a black hole on a wing with those two. Wouldnt even mind trying albrecht at some point. That would make that line harder to play against and can dig pucks out to feed the two skilled guys.

Gotta play more than a period. Their goalie had a great game. Would be nice to throw in some scoring from some depth guys. All the scoring has basically been from Blake, gaber, johannes, Perron. Jake Schmaltz and Dylan James are guys that I’d like to see contribute more.

Disappointing game offensively. Good first. Fell apart after that. Some d breakdowns to be expected. Good goaltending. MN will !@#$ the bed when it matters like all MN teams. Regular season world beaters. Figure out how to break the middle of the ice tomorrow.

Mooney to the goofs

Wasn’t crispy but I like the mix of grit/size to go along with the skill. Berg and Johannes were great additions. Back end will be just fine.

Houston better in every aspect.

Such a good Minny team can’t get it done. The fair weather fan base that didn’t even show up for home games a couple years ago deserves every bit of this.

If it wasn’t for the blatant high stick I would have agreed that it was a wash. Call them both or call nothing, but the high stick did stand out.

MN top line already has a ton of minutes logged. Not sure if it’s been that way all year but something to watch.

Minny fortunate all these loose pucks bouncing around their own net haven’t landed on a Quinnipiac stick yet.

Moore was the only surprising one for me and that may be a single isolated decision. If the culture was that bad I don’t think we’d see a guy like Gaber come back for more especially since he said he was 50/50. Either way, I hope for the sake of the program Bubs is in the hottest of hot seats next season. I don’t want him gone yet but I don’t like the direction this is headed either.

What if he wasn’t guaranteed any of that so he decided to look for those opportunities elsewhere? Pure speculation on my part, but what if something like that was the case. Very interested to hear what the story is.

Michigan and Minnesota are the most skilled teams in the tournament this year no doubt, but you know things are going your way as a conference when Ashton Calder looks nhl ready. What happened to the competition?

That was probably the best D class in NCHC history. If that’s what you’re banking on, again, best of luck. Regardless of what happens, there will be huge turnover. I prefer hitting the portal for a least two proven guys over all freshmen.
