  1. Jan 4-0. Terrible 2nd but still double them up in shots and win comfortably. Young bought himself some more games. Good game kid. Whatever the coaching staff said after the 2nd lit a fire. Fun team to watch. Finish strong tomorrow. Clay Matvick was a treat.
  2. It’ll be interesting to se show far Duluth can ride one stellar line. Look at the stat line again tonight. Plante, Plante, Shaugabay, Hanson.
  3. Somebody get him Oshie’s number. Have a chat.
  4. Good period. Deserved more goals with that effort. 18 shots on goal already. Wearing Urban out.
  5. Lots of pace so far. Guys are flying.
  6. Hope to see Jan tonight and Hobie tomorrow night. Continue the same rotation and should be less emotion tomorrow night for Hobie.
  7. Hanson on the back end, and the Plante line is basically their team. Can’t imagine that is a recipe for success over a full season. That’s what they have to do tho and Sandy knows it.
  8. Good night for UND in the pairwise or whatever it is now. Clarkson win, Minny win, Duluth win.
  9. Too bad he isn’t better. He’d look good in green.
  10. de la George John Deere
  11. So much depth that they can just roll 4 lines and rotate 2-3 guys out each night. Heck of a weekend for Ollie. Others as well, but Ollie really stood out both nights.
  12. The depth is there. The concerning part is I don’t know if one of the top two lines has been the best line in any game so far. I’m assuming chemistry will come at some point. They need to tone down the aggressiveness from the dmen a bit. It’s leading to too many odd many rushes and chances against. The top lines scoring should allow the dmen to back off a bit and not force things offensively.
  13. I’m assuming Homer tonight and Spunar tomorrow was the plan going into the week. I kinda get it. I’ve seen a lot of inexperienced goalies have a great game and follow it up with a dud. Maybe Jax is looking for a rotation until somebody takes the reins.
  14. Get the win tomorrow night and this weekend ends up as a great weekend. All they have to do is shut the Plante line down. The hard part is shutting the Plante line down. UMD will only go as far as that one line takes them.
  15. That’s essentially Brad Berrys pace. He’s embarrassed himself so much at the WJC level he won’t be invited back. He’s no David Carle. I’m only picking on him because gfhockey has to bring him up after every Duluth win.
  16. He’s lost 8 straight to UND. He rode one stellar d-corps to two national championships winning an insane amount of 1 goal games. He’s coached team USA to a 4th and 6th place WJC finish. Not the stellar coach you think he is.
  17. Seems like UND has struggled to get the most out of their highly touted forwards for awhile. Have done a decent job with dmen. Frustrating to watch a 2nd rounder, 4th rounder, and 5th rounder skate circles around multiple USHL forwards of the year and multiple higher draft picks.
  18. Well yeah I was only talking about that last goal specifically.
  19. In position or not, it’s a 2 on 1 back door guy open cause the dman wasn’t in position to take the pass away.
  20. Not sure what you want Homer to do there. Rest of the guys on the ice hung him out to dry.
  21. Very good period and then the Plante line with magic at the end. Crazy chemistry amongst those 3.
  22. He really struggles with rebounds, especially ones that hit his glove. Has a hard time hanging on.
  23. UND struggles against teams that make it hard to get into the slot. That’s what made Jackson Blake so good was that he was able to get inside against anyone. When UND is forced to the perimeter, they aren’t a very good team. Lack of chemistry and creativity makes it hard to get into that prime scoring area. Hopefully that will come in time.
  24. Gotta stop having these early season bad out of conference losses. Feels like they’re going to be chasing the season again 5 games in.
