  1. I like the goalie getting pulled 1 minute of game time after the play by play guy says “it looks like goaltending won’t be an issue tonight for the bulldogs”.
  2. Good game minus the penalties in the 3rd. I did not expect them to put up 7 against a team like Duluth the way they’ve struggled against competent defensive teams this year.
  3. Don’t wanna jinx it but TJs rebound control has been really good.
  4. I like the grit he plays with. Put some more meat/muscle on that athletic frame and he’ll be an absolute p.i.t.a. to play against.
  5. Showering the goalie and the retaliation has always been matching minors until now I guess.
  6. It’s sure nice coming out of the gate hot and not having to worry about being a bubble team but I’ll take whatever has them playing the best hockey at the end of the year. Frustrating times now no doubt.
  7. Littler having an awful first. Let the shot get thru at the point on the second Cornell goal and left the high slot wide open on the 3rd.
  8. Coming in we all would have taken a split. After what I saw the last two games a split seems a little bit disappointing. Not a bad weekend overall.
  9. Up 5 goals I would give my team the green light to go after the next guy that crashes the net. Toughen up and send a message.
  10. Relentless on the puck. BU didn’t hardly have a chance to touch it let alone make a play.
  11. Not a bad period. Much more net presence than last night. Hobie not ready and not square on the goal against.
  12. Hopefully they can find some chemistry offensively. Last night was sloppy. Nothing crisp. Puck seemed to be bouncing as much as the stream.
  13. Augustana all over again. My goodness.
  14. Breakouts were an issue and no sustained time in Mankatos end. Way too easy to defend against.
  15. Good win. Good in their own end. Only goals against were a freshman mistake in front of the net and a deflected puck that threw the goalie off. Up front they were good as well. Lots of forward depth and a few guys that have been quiet that you know won’t be for much longer (Perron, Swanson, OMac, etc. ).
  16. Should have hit the middle of the jersey if the goalie wasn’t flopping. It’ll be interesting if there is a rotation with Hobie. Would have to imagine there is a shorter leash than any UND starter has had in quite awhile.
  17. No urgency to get the puck out of their end with zero pressure. Looked they they were doing the cycling for Providence. Haven’t been impressed with 13 so far. Hopefully it’s just a a slow start to the season.
  18. I remember when they were a lock for national champions last year after the exhibition game. They’ll figure it out.
  19. Every team that wins it is extremely lucky in addition to being obviously very good was my point. People say “ Carle this and Carle that”, which he deserves, but the difference between him and the other coaches he beat had a lot to do with a goaltender that put on one of the best performances any of us have ever seen.
  20. You have to be so wildly lucky to win this tourney. Riding a 98 save percentage and winning 3 out of 4 by 1 goal is crazy to think about.
  21. According to RA from Spittin Chiclets on Twitter the deal with Carolina is done and there will be a formal announcement tomorrow regarding Blake. That sucks.
  22. As was already mentioned, that was a rare team that was so dang good everywhere else that they didn’t seem to need as much depth. Those guys were also playing their best hockey at that time of the year. I just don’t know what to do with Schmaltz was my point. Zero offense and isn’t overly hard to play against. Not great at faceoffs. Could slide him to wing. I just don’t like thought of him centering a 3rd line again.
  23. Connor Ford 2.0 and Jake Schmaltz as 2 of your 4 centers aren’t winning you a national championship.
  24. For all this “culture” talk it sounds like the majority of us went into this game hoping to win (obviously) but expecting to lose. That’s the definition of a losing culture. That’s the reality. Opposite of clutch. Fade away when it matters.
  25. This is how I feel as well but the sad part is a month ago I would say we were a serious title contender. The meltdown happened in the last month. You want to playing your best hockey going into the tournament and they continue to fade away.
