This is bringing up all sorts of tough memories. After to losing to DU in the 2005 title game, we lost to Boston College three straight years in the Frozen Four semifinal game (2006-2008) before that crappy loss to New Hampshire in 2009.
I just realized that Kieffer Bellows, the BU fellow who went through the glass, is from Edina. Just when I thought that highlight couldn't get any better...
Massey sees the SCSU/BU game as closest to a coin-flip game.
To me, the most intriguing first-round matchup is Michigan/Duluth. I'd say it's a matchup of youth versus experience, but UMD has lost some key veteran pieces from their championship teams.
Especially since being cheered against can be motivating ("us against the world..."). We still have execute...no excuses like "the ice was bad" or "the refs were bad" will matter.
Honest question: If it's true that only the head coach tested positive, why couldn't St. Lawrence just play with an assistant coach acting as head coach?
Thanks for sharing this link. Good article. Gaber is one of those guys you can't help but cheer for: undrafted, undersized, hardworking, humble. Works his butt off on the defensive end. Terrific finishing skills. Someone here said Gaber is reminiscent of Drake Caggiula. That's a pretty good comp, imo.
