We had some friends whose daughter played the harp. Apparently the girl's harp teacher would have prospective students sit up to a harp and put their fingers on the strings. The teacher could tell immediately whether or not this prospective student would ever be able to play the harp well. I wonder if Karl is like this with respect to goalies.

I'm already confused about all the guys named Jackson/Jaxson in the Sioux pipeline. Then I find this picture of Jackson Blake. I think. I mean, I just give up.
-
Ditto. Wish they could have won a natty together.

Bad ice isn't an excuse for losing, but for pete's sake, in the most important games of the year, why can't the NCAA honor the integrity of the game by making sure the playing conditions are satisfactory? For player safety AND for our viewing pleasure! Meanwhile, there are excellent ice-hockey facilities sitting unused all over the place that can't be used because they happen to be on campus. Makes no freaking sense to me.

ESPN is actually using a "Caulfield on ice" graphic.
-
I heard Michigan's players actually skate on a thin layer of air. So if the ice is chewed up, we'll have to blame the Bulldogs, I guess.

This is bringing up all sorts of tough memories. After to losing to DU in the 2005 title game, we lost to Boston College three straight years in the Frozen Four semifinal game (2006-2008) before that crappy loss to New Hampshire in 2009.
-
UND lost to UNH in OT in 2009. Boxscore.

Well then...

Question for those who watched more CC hockey than me: Does Cruikshank play center?
-
I'd rather play. Feels more legit.

I just realized that Kieffer Bellows, the BU fellow who went through the glass, is from Edina. Just when I thought that highlight couldn't get any better...
-
But that game yielded one of the best Sioux highlights EVER.

Talk about reopening old wounds.
-
No offense, but I think Wisconsin natives refer to these as "bread and water."
-
Massey sees the SCSU/BU game as closest to a coin-flip game. To me, the most intriguing first-round matchup is Michigan/Duluth. I'd say it's a matchup of youth versus experience, but UMD has lost some key veteran pieces from their championship teams.

Especially since being cheered against can be motivating ("us against the world..."). We still have execute...no excuses like "the ice was bad" or "the refs were bad" will matter.
-
How about the Little Red Mavettes?
-
Honest question: If it's true that only the head coach tested positive, why couldn't St. Lawrence just play with an assistant coach acting as head coach?
-
So if I'm not mistaken, those of us who have Hulu have access to the ESPN3.
-
Oh shoot. NCAA website says UND first round game on ESPN3. I don't have ESPN3 anymore, dangit.
-
SCSU wins the Albany regional.
-
Bridgeport regional seems weakest. That being said, the Beavers can beat Wisco, especially if they're able to frustrate Caufield.

2020-21 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Thanks for sharing this link. Good article. Gaber is one of those guys you can't help but cheer for: undrafted, undersized, hardworking, humble. Works his butt off on the defensive end. Terrific finishing skills. Someone here said Gaber is reminiscent of Drake Caggiula. That's a pretty good comp, imo. -
Lowell goalie blockered the puck right into the net. Whoops.
