  1. This is at least the third post in the past few days that could be post of the year. You guys are on fire!
  2. Thank you for a good reminder that there is a human side to college hockey. Our d-core might be quite young and inexperienced next season, so if 6 stays he will likely have ample opportunity to develop and prove himself. That’s my hope anyway.
  3. Gaber was 8-1 on faceoffs last night. According to CHN, he's only taken 17 faceoffs all season (not sure if that includes last night). Anyway, maybe use Gaber in the dot more often?
  4. Also worth noting: SCSU beats Denver 7-3. SCSU can be so lethal when playing on that Olympic sheet.
  5. Worth noting: Quinnipiac loses for only the second time all season. Cornell 4, QU 0
  6. DeRidder allowed 2 goals on 25 SOGs. By my math <who are we kidding, I am using the calculator app> that is a .920 save %. Nine freaking twenty! Quality goaltending! And we won! What a coincidence!
  7. A question that's fair and reasonable...are you sure you're a good fit for the internet? So who's out? Rotate amongst 10, 11, 13, 19, 28. But IMO the coaching staff needs to prioritize developing the freshman and sophomores for next year and beyond.
  8. Lol! You're on fire today.
  9. I don't know about line combos per se, but I'd like to see 18, 20, 21, and 26 play every game from here on out.
  10. Below is a list I copied from CHN.com of UND's upcoming recruiting classes. Are any of these guys no longer in the pipeline? And is there anyone in the pipeline who is not listed? Ausmus, Trey D 5-11 161 2004-05-07 East Grand Forks, Minn. Benoit, Nate D 6-1 187 2002-11-26 Concord, N.H. Croal, Cody LW 5-11 174 2003-06-17 North Branch, Minn. 11. Geez, what a cluster. Right now, Division I athletics seems like the RV scene in Anchorman 2.
  12. As I re-read this post, I think I may have communicated my point poorly. It's not criticism of Strinden--just the opposite. I wanted to point out that Strinden has matched exactly the production of Howard, in fewer games even. So it would be great to see Strinden in the lineup from here on out.
  13. I think it's fair to say that for Duluth, freshman Isaac Howard (first round draft pick, blue chipper) has been disappointing. Here's a comparison of Howard and a certain UND player: Isaac Howard, freshman forward, first round draft pick: 20 games, 2 G, 5 A, 7 Pts, 0.35 Points/game, -11 +/-. UND player, freshman forward, seventh round draft pick: 14 games, 2 G, 5 A, 7 Pts, 0.50 Points/game, +3 +/-. The UND player? Ben Strinden.
  14. Scoring and defensive team stats to prep for this weekend's series: Duluth, scoring: Goals/game: ranked 50th at 2.3. SOG/game: ranked 18th at 31.3. Shooting %: ranked 57th at 7.4%. Duluth, defense: Goals allowed/game: ranked 38th at 3.0. SOG allowed/game: ranked 28th at 28.6. Save %: ranked 41st at .897%. UND, scoring: Goals/game: ranked 12th at 3.4. SOG/game: ranked 29th at 29.6. Shooting %: ranked 6th at 11.6%. UND, defense: Goals allowed/game: ranked 47th at 3.3. SOG allowed/game: ranked 7th at 24.9. Save %: ranked 61st* at .867%. *Since Stonehill isn't really playing this season, 61st is last.
  15. These are better slogans than half the commercials on TV.
  16. I'm guessing someone here can speak with authority, but it wouldn't appear so. UMD's Cole Spicer is from Grand Forks. Jack Spicer is from Rockville, MD.
  17. Justice seems so rare, so it's good to hear a story of when it actually occurs.
  18. This team can score but can't defend. Remember when the narrative was "Berry can recruit defenseman but not forwards!" (Of course now we're all asking, "Can he and his staff recruit some goalies?")
