South Dakota football makes quick turnaround with Thursday game against North Dakota After spotting Illinois State a 17-0 lead six minutes into the second quarter, the Coyotes roared back to tie it by halftime, thanks mainly to five consecutive turnovers. They wound up taking the lead for good on a third-quarter touchdown, but it took an interception in the end zone by Elijah Reed to seal the victory. Now, it’s off to North Dakota where the Coyotes will attempt to snap a 13-game losing streak in games played in Grand Forks. Offensive lineman Mason Scheidigger, a senior, was a late scratch at Illinois State and snapped a streak of 36 consecutive starts. He has been cleared to play this week. Punter Brady Schutt earned MVFC special teams player of the week honors. There has been a lot of up and down FB games on both sides of these two flagship oldest U's in the Dakotas. The rivalry stems from the time the two teams spent competing together in the North Central Conference (1922–2007) and later in the Great West Conference (2008–2011). In 2000, the Sitting Bull Trophy was retired, need a substitute now in the MVFC.

I'd have them filled with GF's best draft. 3 boxes came in this morning.

All games in the Alerus, thinking starting in 2001. ONLY lost one game to a Dakota school, that being an early season game to the Wabbits by 7 points in 2013. Yotes and Bizon have never won in the Alerus, going to be huge home field advantage joining the Fluffy MVFC.

We came from behind big time in each. Victorious in 2016 & 2011, wild. Sad part talk on the street was in 2011 that the SD players busted up the visiting locker room in the Alerus. There was talk that UND's head coach's job was in jeopardy prior to this game. They are crying and fighting on Bozovill. The locker room also has problems. Players leaving. Team slipped, 39 snapped, fans running for the hills - quitting TM. More slipping coming? They play Miss St & Ill St, then all 3 Dakotas, plus UNI - not easy. Everyone is going to want to take a bite out of that arrogantcy. The drugs in locker must of left after BB Mama from Cavalier put Larson in his corner. Team that may not have it. They were crushed last week - some like walking dead on the sidelines.

That game really hurt, our weakness from injuries/depth was exposed, and SD dealt us more injuries. We never recovered that season. Payback Thursday, there'll be no love lost.

You don't go from like around 36th in NCAA STATS FCS TOP 25 (counting votes after top 25) in 9 days to #1 in tomorrow's poll. We have plenty to work on and to improve on. Only second game of season, would a Thursday SD slap make us humble? One game a week, keep focused.

This game is now bigger than first imagined by most - due to the Hawks' wins over the Salukis and Rabbits. Great weekend for GF in sports. Hawks beat SDSU in FB, a top ranked UND Hockey team (winner of Penrose) wins in Omaha, and Central HS wins state hockey tournament. The last two being of storied programs. As early as it is in the season, UND football has put itself in position to be able to make a mark. Every game going forward is going to be huge. The MVFC has a reputation of fierce competition, work for what you get. SD has given us some tough competition in recent past, and they may be as hungry as we are.

Biggest improvement I see is off. & def. lines. This is where we won the last two games. To physically beat the SDSU lines is making a statement.
