  1. I think you Joshing a little and I think we stay ahead of UNI for at least another week. Even with their staying power in the upper end of Polls. Somehow I feel good about not having them on our schedule, we might mot match up well against them?
  2. 3-1-21, we make the STATS Top 25 to 4th place with 846 votes. after Week 22 http://www.fcs.football/cfb/polls.asp?week=22&div=1aa 3-8-21, we make the STATS Top 25 to 3rd place with 919 votes. after Week 23 http://www.fcs.football/cfb/polls.asp?week=23&div=1aa
  3. Should of brought this Thread back from last season earlier, quite a few posts already about Polls. This NCAA STATS Top 25 Poll usually come out Monday. There are other polls that come out earlier. The FCS STATS Top 25 Poll before our season started had UND at ~36th place by 11 places behind 25th with 66 votes. Preseason http://www.fcs.football/cfb/polls.asp?week=19&div=1aa 2-22-21, we make the STATS Top 25 at 14th place with 401 votes. after Week 21 http://www.fcs.football/cfb/polls.asp?week=21&div=1aa
  4. Ya, that was ugly. They had a large colored picture of the visitors and the Bison (no Hawks). In the Grand Forks paper couple days before the game at the Alerus.
  5. at Western IL Attendance was 658 Duration was 3:11
  6. Bubba kills it compared to this stuff! We have a shot at the W in the ManurePit, that's all we've been asking for.
  7. Win out first on the road, things coming together.
  8. We need some more sacks here down the stretch to add to your banner!
  9. Thinking, permission be granted to talk about the next game.
  10. This is how road games can spiral out of control. We need to step up in the second half.
  11. You have to be able to have the confidence to catch the ball in that situation.
  12. They do, especially if we play them again?
  13. Since the Forum bought the Herald, they put UND football in the back seat. I've been complaining about this when the Herald was still a daily. Just going to have prove ourselves through message boards and other media. Go Hawks. The classic a few years ago, was when we were going to play an Alabama ? school and the Herald had a picture (from previous year) of the Bizon playing them on top of the Herald sports page. The article about us playing the Alabama ? school just below. No picture of UND. That's when I dropped the Herald after 40 some years. I took a pic of that page and posted it here somewhere.
  14. UND football Week 4 primer: How to watch, injuries and matchups with Western Illinois "We do things with a purpose," said Hergel, a 6-foot-2, 295-pound sophomore from Toronto. "There's nothing done without purpose in our group. We're going to get our knuckles dirty, we're going to come for 60 minutes and not stop until the whistle is blown ... maybe even a little after, but that's just how we play." Written By: Tom Miller | 11:00 am, Mar. 12, 2021 You don't have to listen to UND offensive lineman Kyle Hergel for long to understand the type of attitude that his position group brings for the Fighting Hawks this season. "We do things with a purpose," said Hergel, a 6-foot-2, 295-pound sophomore from Toronto. "There's nothing done without purpose in our group. We're going to get our knuckles dirty, we're going to come for 60 minutes and not stop until the whistle is blown ... maybe even a little after, but that's just how we play. We're going to be mean, nasty and in your face." UND's quick rise to the No. 3 national ranking in the last STATS FCS poll can be traced back to the Fighting Hawks' improved rushing attack. The Hawks (3-0) will look to keep that run game going in their first road test of the year against Western Illinois (0-2) at noon Saturday in Macomb. In home wins over Southern Illinois, South Dakota State and South Dakota, UND is running for 218.3 yards per game, which ranks 14th in the FCS. Western Illinois' defense, meanwhile, ranks 70th of 76 FCS teams this spring in run defense. The Leathernecks have surrendered 251 rushing yards per game. For comparison sake, UND rushed for 121.8 yards per game in the fall of 2019, so the Hawks were rushing for almost 100 fewer yards per game than in the spring of 2021. UND's offensive line has also not allowed a quarterback sack. They're the only unit in the country able to make that claim in the FCS this year. UND sophomore running back Otis Weah is ninth in the FCS in rushing yards with 342. His per-game average of 114.0 yards per game ranks eighth in the FCS but first among backs who have played in at least three games this year. Weah is averaging 7.43 yards per carry. He currently leads the Missouri Valley Football Conference in rushing yards, yards per carry, yards per game, rushing touchdowns and total touchdowns. "We want (our running backs) to look good and get all the touchdowns and media," Hergel said. "We're there to get in a brawl. We're going to protect them and our quarterback. We're going to get our knuckles black and blue for them because we want them to have success and shine." https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/football/6929071-UND-football-Week-4-primer-How-to-watch-injuries-and-matchups-with-Western-Illinois
  15. I C what U did there, give me 4 hours.
  16. Predicting under 1,000 fans today. Weather: kickoff 53 degrees increasing to 56 9 mph ESE wind partly cloudy
  17. Game day already, and on the road - first one at that. In fact 4 of our last 5 conference games are on the road, that's like unheard of. Road games can play out somewhat differently. While everything seems to be moving forward pretty good, we need to control the challenge of the road game. Because they can unravel, killing a dream. The Hawks need this road game W to begin building the team's complete effort moving forward.
