For sure. Would like to see a couple more from the portal.

It is going to take more than 1 year to turn this defense around. They have been awful for two seasons. If we are slightly below average or average next year that is a win IMO.

Any portal offers out there that we still have a chance?

He still played his role. I think we will miss 3rd and 4th and short being so automatic.

Looking at the coaching staff I see a lot of the current defensive coaches would have been there when he was

Offers from Illinois State and Eastern Illinois from what I could find. Any others that I am missing?

To be fair, these facilities are just getting finished. Also, other than DBs coach the whole defensive staff is getting replaced which had been our biggest issue. Still worried about the QB position and WR room, but I think WR will continue to get addressed in the portal.

I like both. I do think they need to fix the calendar for the portal and try to regulate NIL more though.

I’m hoping this isn’t the case. There’s so much to worry about as a college HC that I would prefer he not be calling the defense.

When will rest of coaching staff be announced?

I would still like them to get another WR in the portal. This is definitely a good start though.
