The Internet Radio feed wasn't working for the hockey game last night, and it seems they haven't fixed the problem for today. So it will be no TV coverage and no internet radio for a playoff game, way to be on the ball Athletic Department!

So do you honestly believe that any of the NCC teams would beat Ball State or Minnesota? Ball State competed with Michigan and it is sick to think that they are a bad team. The are an average 1a team that would easily stroll through the NCC and UND schedule. If you really think Ball State and Minnesota are not a lot better than the competition in the current and former NCC you are delusional. And yet all, but maybe Stanford would role through a 1aa schedule and crush all but the very best in D2. Also I have watched 2 bison games on the tube this year. Watched UC-Davis and Cal-Poly both play and well and Ball State and MN. They are all better football teams then what UND has faced this season with the exception of UNI which wasn't playing very well when they played UND. Where do you think SDSU would have placed in the NCC with the team they have right now?

They fact that you think the Massey system doesn't have a any bias built into it is just stupid! It's not bias like people are bias by being complete and total homers. As bad a team as WSU is (and there are tons like WSU out there with great records because they play even worse teams) they helped UND SOS because of a bunch of wins over Crookston, Northern State, Moorhead, etc. Heck Tiffin had only one loss this season and they are worse then WSU, yet a teams SOS goes up just by playing them.

They also played 2 fully funded 1a schools this season, if this can't be argued as NDSU toughest schedule ever (possibly at least). What season did they have a tougher schedule? The old NCC was pretty tough, but certainly not on the level with games like these.

Yes, but Tiffin going 9-1 would help a lot of teams SOS even though they are not a very good football team. Do the Massey rating have some merit, sure but the system is still very flawed no matter what you think. I understood it as it is the hardest schedule NDSU has ever played, and it is very possible that it is the toughest schedule NDSU has played. Some people indication UND played a tougher schedule this season which is absolutely untrue, even though UND prabably had the toughest schedule in D2 football.

I understand, but I don't give the massey ratings a lot of credence. UND should not be ranked ahead of NW missouri or GV in any current rankings. Just like all of these numbers and ranking systems it is flawed.

Correct, but teams have bad days, especially early in the season. If they played again this week, what do you think would happen?

The Bison schedule was likely there toughest ever, and it is certainly a lot tougher then UND's. UND had a tough D2 schedule, but massy ratings are a joke and aren't really a proper indication. Cal-Poly, UC-Davis, Ball State, the Goofers among others would have all pretty much walked UND schedule this season with the exception of playing UNI. Comparing schedule strength from D2 to 1aa is pretty foolish unless you are comparing to the non-scholarship 1aa schools. Example, USD is a very good D2 team that got beat badly by Central Arkansas in there first year of transitioning to 1aa (someone on D2.com told me they are already using the full number of scholarships). Cal-Davis a 5-5 team went in and spanked Central Arkansas later that season and I believe SDSU did as well. The overall level of play is slightly higher at 1aa compared to the elite D2 football teams, and it's a lot higher when compared to most D2 teams. People might say that Chadron beat Montana State and they aren't even a fully funded D2 school. Anything can happen in a game and if the teams played now MSU would put a hurt of Chadron (they hit the 1 in 10 shot they had to win the game). The reasons they won the game is because MSU was still celebrating the big win over Colorado, MSU took them lightly as a lower level D2 school, obviously Chadron played very well and MSU didn't. These types of games happen all the time, usually UND lets a doormat team hang with them and occasionaly beat them at least once a year.

I agree about Ullsperger, he really hasn't seemed to do a lot this season which is suprising because the UND defense tends to spill a lot the RB's to the middle of the field giving them lots of chances to make plays.

They certainly played more than 3 tough teams this year, but you are correct tht the overall strength of the schedule is down. Also stats don't typically get padded playing blowout games because the starters are out pretty early and UND has shared the carries most of the season. Chappel has only attempted 151 carries this season, that's about 15 carries a game which isn't a lot. I say 15 a game because he really didn't play much in the first game if I remember correctly. Woodhead and Race have the padded stats in D2 do to the # of carries they get and playing in games that require there offensive production in order to win.

It's sad, but I think this is very true. Just an opinion I got during my 5 years living in the Forks but the general population of the city will support Sioux Hockey, but will pretty much piss on any other UND athletic team that isn't doing very well. Hockey is UND's #1 and all the other sports take a back seat. NDSU's #1 is football and it shows with overall fan support and attendance at most of there football games.

Yes my prediction was wrong because I thought WSU would keep it within 20 points. Boy was I wrong, but I thought coach Lennon would take it easy on Winona. Not a lot he could do when your RB's are averaging 10 yards a carry. So much for the improved version of WSU and the defense that has been shutting everyone down.

They did play and beat Truman State and Emporia State this season. Granted they are not great teams, but they are certainly better then who they play on there conference schedule.
