You say that like it's a bad thing. That is exactly where all of this stands now, though. So what would be your solution? Let certain athletic departments use the Sioux name because they just don't want the new logo? How will that go over with the NCAA?

When Burger King revises its logo, all of the employees just follow suit. If you are emplyed by UND...it's maybe best to just go with it. I think we all agree that 5% caused a disturbance for the other 95%. But this is where we are now, and the fight was won by the 5%. There is a lot about all of these name changes that i don't agree with, and I'm betting the majority of UND staff that is having to mandate the new logo usage wish it were still "Sioux". it's a fight that UND admin would need to take to the NCAA. They did. They lost. Internal departments pushing back will change absolutely nothing.

Force Fed? It's the only brand that UND can legally use right now . . . and keeping a brand on track takes someone to mandate how and where it gets used. "Sioux" is no longer the school brand, and is not to be used by ANY department at UND. It may be hard to accept, but it's not hard to understand.

It was great to see how UND handled the option style of offense. That qb was frustrated all day by the OLB's. They may not have made all of the tackles and interceptions...but their discipline out in the flat took away the pitches and throws that the qb was wanting to make. When the OLB's play like that, ends and safety are going to have fun. Lord knows that if that OLB misreads a play or gets out of position, that will make for a 10 yard gain every time.

There is no "adapt" . . . the new students coming in were never Fighting Sioux. There's really no transition for them (and good for them, they are the lucky ones in all of this). Not trying to be jerk. That read like I was trying to correct you I'm just saying that the new generation will be Fighting Hawks from day one.

For that to happen, last year's o-line would have to be playing . . . they would line up on that first play and have the opposing defenders on their cans and a whole big enough for a bus to go through. That's just not happening this year.

Coaches, players...watching any interview with any of them could put a person to sleep. This is just not an energetic bunch (that we ever get to see, anyway). i could see how this team probably wouldn't liven up until they are punched in the face at least twice. It seems they kind play that way come game time...they react to pressure instead of causing pressure. yes?

Football home opener . . . I was pretty shocked at the amount of new Hawk-gear that was being worn. Someone must like it.

I brought my three year old daughter. in the two previous seasons and to start this year...they have NEVER lost a game she's been to. Coincidence???
