This process is ment to get the best name for und. If that means that a vote to get a runoff turns into an advisory vote because of a tie, I'm okay with that. There's a good chance that there will be 3 votes and now those who voted for sundogs and Northstars will get a larger influence in determining what their team name is, and I'm okay with that. Everyone has taken a side and now it's not about getting the best name for UND, it's about their side winning. That's what's not good for the University.

This isn't some presidential election that has been refined over decades. This is a unique situation and setting some hard precedent is a disservice to everyone because it was set by people who aren't experienced in this (because no one is experienced in this). This whole thing needs to be flexible and not being fluid now because other parts of the process were done poorly is just adding to the problem, not helping it.

This is a unique situation that quite frankly needs to be flexible. I want a nickname that everyone wants and accommodating that by allowing 3 finalist because 2 were essentially tied is only practical. I think the winner needs to have 50 percent of the vote so I hope that there is a third if the November 2nd vote doesn't get that. And I thought sundogs was the establishment choice? Or is the establishment choice any that siouxsports.com doesn't agree with?

It's funny how detached from reality this board is. Fighting hawk seemed like an afterthought here and is the most popular. There is weird outrage that the second and third choices are essentially tied so both are in the final runoff, but in reality it is the most practical decision. This board is fun, but completely delusional.

I would be excited to see what we could come up with logo wise if we went nodaks. I think the wild logo is awesome and that came from an open ended name. I just don't think a cowboy fits the University very well.

Real gutsy to say you're just going to agree with whatever the coaching staff does. The team has an obvious weak spot and not addressing it will ensure we never become elite, quite frankly und could be a top ten team with if that weak spot makes major improvement.

Ratelle is a special talent. He's smart and under control, keeping his body weight over his feet and not over committing and then is still big and strong enough to push the ball handler back.

I much prefer studrud locking onto a reciever then bailing outta the pocket and getting sacked the ten times a game he's asked to pass. Studsrud is fine for us now, but the ndsu game showed that this team won't be a true contender unless the offense takes the next step. I haven't seen enough flashes from studsrud as a Passer to trust that he eventually will become a guy that will make defenses respect the passing game.

Why don't you think mollberg could get the start. He was the starter before he got injured over bartles and was a mobile guy who was an above average thrower before he hurt himself. Now if he isn't healed he won't start but if he is I see no reason why he wouldn't be above bartles at a minimum.

Pretty crazy that other than the first long play the two scoring drives for Portland were 2 yards and 8 yards. Other than the offense putting them in bad spots, they were really lights out.

I really like how the schedule is set up for us here on out. Getting Idaho state before the Montana schools, to give us a chance to hopefully work out some pass defense bugs while still winning should be nice. Then finishing the season against cp, who we should match up best of the top teams against, should propel us into the playoffs nicely.
