  1. The "injury bug is irrelevant" comment could stick if that injury was a season ending injury but Keaton is back and 1-0 since his return. When he was injured the team went 0-3 and 4-1 when he started and finished the game. 5-1 with Keaton, 0-3 without. I believe they could make an argument ! You're right on the fact that every team has injuries but when it's the qb position and it's a team that's already young and inexperienced like und is, losing your starting qb deflates. Your example is montana. Montana has won some games with their 3rd string, as where und was just lost with their 2nd stringer. Plus montana is a perennial power team. They just reload. You mentioned , "you have to go by the product you have on the field" ! That's what I'm saying !
  2. Now that Keaton's back, and IF und were to win out , could und pitch the fact the team has only 1 loss with him as a starter. And that 1 loss is the team that's one hour south. I don't consider the idaho st a loss for him. Und was in control and leading (31-18? ) in the 4th qtr before he was injured. He just seems to have the "it" factor, and more importantly, he seems to have the backing and respect from his team mates which is monumental for a qb. Just listen to their interviews. You can say that there have been many injuries that have affected play, and und has their fair share of them, but ultimately the qb position is the one position that is hardest to replace and the one that requires the most leadership skills. If New England were to lose brady, could they finish the season undefeated ?? That's not to say its the only reason why und lost the those games, because they can definitely clean up with the fumbles, the stale predictable offensive play calling and the secondary fundamentals but Keaton's record indicates he has "something" that obviously Bartles doesn't have and that cost und !!! I believe this group of seniors will be the class we look back at and say they were the the ones that got us back to being relevant. The players want it, the coaches want it and for damn sure we as fans want it!!! Get out to the alerus this Saturday and be loud and proud and send the seniors off with a victory!!!!!
  3. I should also note the fact I'm optimistically speaking, that und takes care of business and wins their 2 remaining games that the committee would take in consideration their chances.
  4. The big sky is a mess right now. I don't see any team being seeded and what was a shoe-in , e wash, has looked mediocre at best in the last 3 weeks. They could and probably should have been 0-3 in those games. Southern Utah, the only undefeated team in conf was rolled by SDSU. Yes SDSU is good and it was early but nothing stands out for me with S Utah. Easy schedule so far and that blowout loss plus a d2 win!?! Portland st doesnt have the "it" factor, the Montana schools are both having down yrs, N zona is young as suspectable, weber st no, cal poly out, und much to injured and young. Actually the fcs seems to be in a down year as well. No true contenders or anyone that stands out. Could be the yr that the last team in wins it all.? Idk. At best I see 2 teams from the big sky playoff bound.....e wash and either port st or S Utah maybe sneaking in. 2 weeks left so a lot can happen. The resumes are just not there! Unds 3 "nice" wins are now looking...eh! Wyoming (fbs) is terrible, port st has 2 loses and their next games are tough , and mont st is in a downward spiral. Hope I'm wrong and hope the committee will like und but after yesterday my optimism is dwindling.
  5. I've mentioned that this game scares me. Just because their jersery has UNC on it, most everyone thinks is a win!? No one is guaranteed a win, and UNC is improved this year. They should have beat e wash two weeks ago (last sec fg) but had some unfortunate bounces, and they have nothing to lose. If they can hold off port st they will have a swagger and the utmost confidence they can beat und. They've played the top 2 dogs in the big sky to what at the moment looks like a win and a should-of-victory. Hope und is healthy
  6. Congrads!!! Great news! Can't wait to see them in Kelly green!
  7. The catwalk is hands down the best "seat" in the house. Last time I sat in my designated seat was the quarter final game vs grand valley st. I'm loud and proud and was asked by the gal behind me to sit down!? I will sit down at home not here. If they made one side of the stadium general admission, to where you could group up with 10-20 friends, them I might make an exception and not use the catwalk. Until then, the catwalk is much to fun and to be able to hassle the opposing players and to see their expressions is priceless. Last week I received the bird from one of mont st players.....haha...
  8. NCAA only cares about who forks out the most green. All that other criteria is worthless.
  9. 10000 capacity is very comparable to the alerus. Like the chances of hosting if we get to that point. First things first, take care of business and let pieces fall into place. Nice to have excitement within the football program
  10. Never heard that. What stadium would it be held at and what's the capacity? Could be a hard bid for sd st potentially, depending on a few of those elements.
  11. If und makes the playoffs there's a slight possibility they could host a game. Factor in regionalization and if sd st doesn't receive a seed (assuming ndsu gets a seed), the odds are, they will travel GF. Apparently there will be work on the jackrabbits stadium at the conclusion of the regular season . They wont be able to host. A lot can and will happen but how awesome would that be!!!
  12. Espn 2. Kenny is good!!!
  13. Just hope all the guys that aren't season ending injuries, can heal up and compete the final 2 games. Lets end the season strong, then cross the fingers on potentially a playoff game (wow!) and let's be heard loud and often for the seniors on senior day. Ratelle and the boys have given it all, hope the fans and students (calling all students) can return the favor !!
  14. After the reversal was announced, the replay is shown and the crowd actually chuckled. Basically wondering how someone or more importantly , a supposed collective group of paid "professionals" could generate that thought process.
  15. That supposed incomplete pass call has to go down as one of top 5 wtf moments in und football. Forgetting about replay, I screamed all 6 shades of red out of my face. When I couldn't scream anymore the only thing I could was to laugh hysterically at those bafoons! I thought , "here we go"! They did not show the replay until the "refs " indicated they weren't really refs, just the fact that they slept at holiday inn express!
  16. Ive read on opposing teams sites that this has been an ongoing issue. It's every team! Very unfortunate that the refs get by with a lot of this bull. Thank god for replay review as it has at least reversed some of the calls. It seem like Saturday the refs had money on the game, not saying, just saying
  17. The unc game has me a little bit worried. Being at home and having an extra week off will be nice, just hope the team doesn't over look any team! Bubba is always focused and has this this on the right path , but sometimes the players see the opponent as don't play up their standards. Unc lost on a last sec fg to e wash 2 weeks ago. They are an improved team over the years past and literally have nothing to lose. They are not necessarily a good team but anything can happen, aka South Dakota. Und is still beat up, missing several marquee players on d, just one game at a time!!!
  18. Unds secondary 2 deep cbs: true soph harris, true soph carter, true fresh tyus, soph (first yr) jahmere safeties soph Reyes, true fresh polmberg, juco (first yr) Johnson, sen w/o James. Add in arnell first yr juco. The youth is apparent!
  19. Yeah, I've already commented on his remarks! To say #27 jahmere should be recruited by the likes of mayville are laughable. He was heavily recruited on the east coast and commited to miss st over auburn. #19 Deion you already stated the facts and #33 Tyus is a true fresh. They are learning in a very pass happy conference, that will only strengthen them. Add to this, cole is banged up, arnell is gone and the injuries to Drew and taj have forced und into to a much different look defensively, namely from the pressure stand point! They need the fundamental part of the game to be stamped in their heads, as much of the time they are in great position, but don't follow through. The talent is there
  20. It takes "excite "to get people out???? These young men commited to und to play football and give their everything to the game!! I guess people like you can be more excited staying at home watching your taped 'voice' episode because it's more exciting?? Fill the alerus because it's for und, it's a football game, and more importantly its showing respect to bubba and the athletes! They deserve it!
  21. 100 % agree!! On a cooler, rainy, windy day I guess students in grand forks nd have better things to do, like yard work or hunting, or maybe fixing the dryer!??!???? I guess they have much better things to do then supporting the football team ?????
  22. Correct! My thoughts on Keaton have always been, he's very athletic but lacks the skills to be a good passing qb. While that might be true, you cannot defy the fact that he just simply wins! Losing the last 3 weeks in the manner to which we did, had Keaton been playing , pretty certain the outcome would of been different. He is just a winner and obviously a huddle warrior. I've played football both in high school and at the collegiate level and when you have a confident motivator leading the team, everyone responds. Respect is earned and truly believe he has earned it.
  23. No!! They were denying mont st great returner any chance to take it to the house. Strategy not injury
  24. ? Number 19 that is top 5 in fcs in breakups!
