  1. Go to WDAZ.com and click "GF Spring Break for Michigan Hockey Players" before they update the news. A fitness center in town donated passes to the team. I guess I wouldn't feel to bad for the Tech players.
  2. Under no circumstances do you ask the ref to take away one of your goals. It's a part of the game and it goes for any sport. "Sir I tripped that player can I get two minutes in the penalty box." You might keep your mouth shut, but you don't tell them it was a no goal. The only reason we are having this discussion is because of the scoreboard at the Ralph. Maybe the WCHA should change the rule and allow replays in arenas that have the capabilities.
  3. I'm sure you haven't noticed but there is already a UND-Minot. Along with a UND-Bismarck. UND has about a century old foothold on North Dakota. Time to wake up NDSU your far behind.
  4. Don't forget about UND-Bismarck.
  5. I agree to much NDSU talk. Reasons 1. Bison Fans 2. Offseason.
  6. It was in yesterdays Herald. http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/news/8100865.htm Turnabout is fair play after NDSU duplicated programs. The board of higher ed encouraged UND to do it.
  7. I can't fight the resistance to laugh at that conference. They are already losing members. Six teams, half from the NCC, if I was a Bison fan, i'd sure as heck hope another conference came knocking soon.
  8. I gotta agree when (if) we (Sioux) win Friday the cup will be presented.

    FINAL 5

What state calls themselves "The State of Football." None. Why? I'll let you decide. No one claimed ND to be the "State of Hockey," but percentage of population wise they do pretty good.

    FINAL 5

You gotta remember what the coaches are working with. A few years ago, before the new Englestad was built, Minnesota should have dominated the WCHA (except maybe for Wisconsin). They had a recruiting advantage in pretty much every area. Deano was recruiting with the old Ralph, although not that bad, I'd take Mariucci over it if I was a recruit. Then you get to show them a huge campus in a major city, that's like the Bahamas weather-wise compared to Grand Forks , with 90% of your games played on TV in the tristate area. Why anyone would want to come to UND prior to the '97 season would be beyond me, but yet Deano did it and won 3 straight MacNaughton's and two National Championships. Wonder what Deano could do with those kind of resources? Although now UND, thanks to Ralph Engelstad (and Dean), will only continue its dominance.
  11. Bad formation on my part. The scenario of Wisconsin & UND winning was hypethetical and the cup would obviously be presented Friday night. The second part was sort of a seperate question. Duluth and UND win Friday I was wondering if they present it then, because after all they did win the league (although might have to still share it.) Like PCM said, you celebrate Friday regardless of the Duluth game, and Tech might get pumped Satuday to beat the Sioux and the Sioux could have an emotional letdown after "supposedly" winning the Cup. Anyone remember what they did in prior year? I wonder if it's up to Dean or the league office.

    Recruits

We need to get the best talent regardless of where they are from. Although landing a GF guy usually means he'll have more loyalty and spirit to the Sioux program.

    Nick Fuher

Nick's mom was my sixth grade teacher at Lewis and Clark, and she's one of my all time favorites, so I'm glad to see Nick doing well.
  14. Let's just say it feels good to be home. 1. Fighting Sioux 2. XXX It's been three long years since we won the MacNaughton. Man us Sioux fans are lucky. Teams like Duluth have waited over ten years...since 1993 let alone three straight years of winning it.
  15. BTW, I'm a Sioux Fan. And yes NDSU is a football school. I didn't say they were a good football school. UND is a hockey school, if the Sioux suck at hockey for a few years does that make them any less of a hockey school?

    Grand Cities

The Grand Cities is here to stay, whether anyone likes it or not, because the Grand Cities Mall probably won't change its name. I think it's nice to have that option if people want to use it.
  17. I'd love to see UND/GF host National Championship games, but I have my doubts after all the controvery that was created after UND/Engelstad was awarded the Men's Elite Eight. The NCAA might not want that kind of controversy again and find it easier to just award it to another venue.
  18. Winner of the Final Five gets an auto bid.
  19. I realize. Presumably if we win on Friday we at least share (regardless of other games outcome). My question was that they'll celebrate Friday and not wait til Saturday night to see if they can celebrate exclusively?
  20. I agree. Some Sioux fans care to much what the Bison do. The move is a good one for the Bison, they are a football school and now are playing at the highest level they can. NDSU is just another I-AA team to the Sioux now; that just happens to be located close.
  21. Can't even blame him for the goal on Saturday since it was deflected. Boy Smaby was pissed, breaking his stick over the goal post.
  22. How's this senario, since the Dulldogs play Wisconsin 30 minutes earlier than the Sioux play Tech, Friday night with 3 minutes left in regulation at the Ralph "final now in WCHA action Duluth 3 Wisconsin 5" (enter cheers) while the Sioux are leading Tech 4-1. Will the Sioux celebrate Friday no matter (if they win) since they at least clinch a share?
  23. Sioux Yeah Yeah! Congrats Central! BC can have the #1 spot . Time to hang another banner next weekend. No let down next weekend gotta sweep.
  24. Great coaching move to switch the line up. Sioux were playing TERRIBLE hockey until that point. Carpe Diem.
