  1. All's been said. Can I getta... GO SIOUX!!!
  2. http://siouxsports.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2365
  3. It feels so good. We just ended NDSU's Division 2 women's basketball. I guess it's only fitting.
  4. I second that. What an amazing play that was. It's to bad such plays go unnoticed in the stat book.
  5. I know I don't. I'd rather have someone who played for the Sioux score goals in the NHL that someone from GF, and I'm from GF. I love statistics you can get them to do anything you choose. Here's some proof Jason Blake's birthplace is Grand Forks, ND. http://www.collegehockeyatthejoe.com/pros.htm http://www.usatoday.com/sports/hockey/shn/shn11ros.htm
  6. I see that the Northern Sun Basketball Championship game is on Fox Sports Net and I also know that they have a conference show on there Bi/Weekly. The question is how did this come about and what does the NCC have to do to get a similar situation.
  7. What makes someone a "Native" of a place? Born there? Grew up there for 2,5, 10 years? Jason Blakes says "I grew up in Grand Forks for ten years."
  8. Maybe they realized having people pay to talk to each other wasn't a smart thing to do. It's because Pizza Hut threw up some big dough.
  9. I agree it shouldn't matter if the team is in a race for a league title, but then the same can be said for the lack of no calls in OT (all leagues). It shouldn't matter if it's during regulation or not a penalty is a penalty, but unfortunately that's not how most people see things. But it don't matter we swept Tech and the cup is the Sioux's outright, no matter happened in Wisconsin.
  10. The message isn't necessarily a unpopular one here. We are UND fans not ND HS hockey fans. ND just doesn't have the population that MN does plain and simple, (especially for hockey in the western part). Like I said before, I hope UND not only gets the best of the best regardless of where they are from, but I hope they learn to play together as a team at UND and win some hardware.
  11. Maybe now the NCAA will try and get UND to the championship game, by awarding them more home playoffs games.
  12. Go to WDAZ.com and click "GF Spring Break for Michigan Hockey Players" before they update the news. A fitness center in town donated passes to the team. I guess I wouldn't feel to bad for the Tech players.
  13. Under no circumstances do you ask the ref to take away one of your goals. It's a part of the game and it goes for any sport. "Sir I tripped that player can I get two minutes in the penalty box." You might keep your mouth shut, but you don't tell them it was a no goal. The only reason we are having this discussion is because of the scoreboard at the Ralph. Maybe the WCHA should change the rule and allow replays in arenas that have the capabilities.
  14. I'm sure you haven't noticed but there is already a UND-Minot. Along with a UND-Bismarck. UND has about a century old foothold on North Dakota. Time to wake up NDSU your far behind.
  15. Don't forget about UND-Bismarck.
  16. I agree to much NDSU talk. Reasons 1. Bison Fans 2. Offseason.
  17. It was in yesterdays Herald. http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/news/8100865.htm Turnabout is fair play after NDSU duplicated programs. The board of higher ed encouraged UND to do it.
  18. I can't fight the resistance to laugh at that conference. They are already losing members. Six teams, half from the NCC, if I was a Bison fan, i'd sure as heck hope another conference came knocking soon.
  19. I gotta agree when (if) we (Sioux) win Friday the cup will be presented.

    FINAL 5

What state calls themselves "The State of Football." None. Why? I'll let you decide. No one claimed ND to be the "State of Hockey," but percentage of population wise they do pretty good.

    FINAL 5

You gotta remember what the coaches are working with. A few years ago, before the new Englestad was built, Minnesota should have dominated the WCHA (except maybe for Wisconsin). They had a recruiting advantage in pretty much every area. Deano was recruiting with the old Ralph, although not that bad, I'd take Mariucci over it if I was a recruit. Then you get to show them a huge campus in a major city, that's like the Bahamas weather-wise compared to Grand Forks , with 90% of your games played on TV in the tristate area. Why anyone would want to come to UND prior to the '97 season would be beyond me, but yet Deano did it and won 3 straight MacNaughton's and two National Championships. Wonder what Deano could do with those kind of resources? Although now UND, thanks to Ralph Engelstad (and Dean), will only continue its dominance.
