If there was no students there would be no university (as you seem to state because the students couldn't pickup that big of a bill). It's probably because Northeastern isn't good. They are not rated in the top 25. I know they beat Michigan this year . Last year they beat Frozen Four contestant BC and still only finished 11-16.
