I, like most, really only follow hockey and football. Which he didn't hire. So there's really no point to be made there. If one is the actual AD for a day, the reasonable thing would to tell Bubba.... Next year (2025) will be your last unless you meet these parameters...like winning a playoff game. And if your Bubba you go "f, that's hard I've only ever done it once in 10 years!"

I've seen that exact same argument for every athletic director and every major head coach for UND over the last 25+ years. Sorta rings hollow when its constantly thrown around.

Young coach who is good at keeping up with college hockey changing landscape vs older coach who is ready to retire on a beach and likes to overeat. Oops I said the quiet part out loud.

Show me a AD UND fans haven't said sucks the last 20 years? Seems like the easiest escape coat. Needs to stop. Two absolutely sucked and the reasons were obvious: Bunning sucked and didn't last long And if didn't resign was gonna get fired. Roger Thomas made us stick to D2. And now we're decades behind. The rest are just escape goats for upset fans: Brian Faison was instrumental in starting the strongest hockey conference on the country! Yet many sh!tied on him. And now Chaves. Who didn't fire the football coach before the season is over?! He didn't hire Bubba S or Brad Berry. It's like the UND "Deep State" state is the bigger issue...."must hire from within"....

No playoffs this year. One playoff win in Bubba UND tenure! Mussman numbers.
