Honestly, That crowd is probably like 60-80% of fans. The other 20-40% are more hardcore. There's a lot of casual fans...females are less hardcore in general. Of course not exclusive to North Dakota. It's why NDSU should move up to FBS and build a new 35,000 seat Fargodome. They could get the whole state (besides a small minority) behind them. They conquered D2. They conquered FCS. It's time for them to tackle a new challenge.

That's a good question. With NIL you almost forget about scholarships. In today's game they almost seem irrelevant. NIL money is today's scholarships.

That's also assuming that a new guy, who would be at equal footing with Romfo, wouldn't continue to improve also. The passes Romfo was making even at the end of the season....the best o line in the world wouldn't help. The QB bar at UND is very low right now. And should be very easy to clear, the pool of candidates is high.

If he can't find a guy to beat what I just watched this year, we in trouble.

If Romfo is the starting QB next year we will quickly know Schmidts Head Coaching abilities.

UND Football: What a Schmidt Show!

Can't believe after the national search, the 3 best were all current or former UND coaches! I learn today UND has had some of the best coaches in the nation!

He moved up a tier coach position but down a level school to get there. And they sucked this year. Just learning.

I just thought he had a more significant role. But he was like 3rd or 4th tier coach there behind the head coach and D&O coordinators. And there's quite a few of these 3rd and 4th tier coaches at schools like Washington. I just learning.

So Schmidt only got to be a defensive coordinator one year (last year) after leaving UND? His other coaching roles were pretty minor then I guess.
