  1. Props to the refs for not instinctly blowing the whistle on that play.
  2. Kicking woes continue. 0-0 despite nice drive by UND.
  3. Growing up in Grand Forks going to public schools. I entered college and started to hear about the "horrors of public schools." I just couldn't wrap my head around it. Public schools seemed perfectly fine to me. My buddies and I all graduated with honors. 99% of people showed up everyday and had homework ready to turn in. My "twin cities" friends in college quickly filled me in that there was a whole other side to "public schools" I had no idea existed. If your public school is bad, is that a system of the neighborhood you live in?
  4. The modern version of kids all around the country who took dads playboy. Cutting the yearbook photo of your crush and gluing it over Cindy Crawford's face.
  5. Speaking of legal system, its extremely flawed. The jury minority opinion will side with the majority just to "get it over. " "So you're telling me there was a reasonable doubt but I was still convicted? "
  6. The legal system will all be online. Your aI vs prosecutors ai with the ai judge deciding. The average non rich person might have a decent chance now.
  7. The fun really starts when you extrapolate it to AI + Robots. What will society look like? Probably like the introduction of the automobile. Who would have thought we all would have to buy something that costs $40k+ brand new just to be a functioning member of society?
  8. The world is divided into two categories: mental and physical. Ai is just a production multiplier - not much different than ones previously introduced: calculators, internet,CAD, tax software. "Mental jobs" are a relatively newish category. The physical world has been dealing with this forever: the chainsaw vs axe, the introduction of the paint sprayer. Seems to me, for every job that's been lost due to technology. Two or three are created. Jobs are created by wants. I want this, I want that. Wants continue to climb every passing year.
  9. Like a very small convenience store...or seen at airports...no line for workers to make or grab food. Its in a corner of the alerus you go in the end grab chips and a pop and pay..."the line is the shopping." But no line cause it's quick. I had previously "complained" how they needed vending machines for people who just want a water or soda and don't want to wait in the long lines for one small item. This is a nice solution. That was until I discovered Chik Fil A hadn't had any lines yet and their chicken sandwhickens are essentially grab and go no waiting.
  10. Sound system seems fine to me. The lines go fast for entry....if youre a regular like most on here should be you should know about the "secret shorter" lines by now. See they have a "grab and go" section for quick chips and pop for skipping long lines. Nice touch. Nice new automatic doors between the hotel and arena. Nice touch. No complaints from my end....just still waiting for them to build a club lounge on the end zone walkways on a newly installed second floor above the walkers.
  11. Yes if UND beats them 31-7 on the road that is indeed way bigger than 31-7 at home.
  12. UNDs next opponent UNI.... UND last year beat at home 31-7.
  13. Yeah its a favorable schedule in that we play NDSU and SDSU at home.... But on the flip side....we have to play NDSU and SDSU at home.... "Cratter that doesnt make any sense".... Well....you see if you need to go 2-2...one could argue losing to SDSU and NDSU on the road would put UND at an advantage to play the other two "lesser teams" at home...giving UND a greater chance of winning the home games and going 2-2. Now the home games become a little less winnable... But the road games become a little more winnable... Meaning those four games....will come down to the wire...play here play there. Buckle Up Buttercup!
  14. Bubba sucked on the road...gotta go find that stat. Schmidt (very small sample size) looks way more prepared.
  15. UND is predicted to win 31‐24.
  16. ....the computer rankings from last year when all was said and done. UND Football was ranked the 20th. That's pretty decent. Let's not pretend we were 41st. Not great but thats where a few keys plays and they're suddenly likely 14th.
  17. They do appear to be better....but also UND football had one of its worse years in awhile last year.... So given a "bad UND football" year last year...the outcome prediction of games this year is mainly based on last year... Let's compare, real vs predicted (FCS games): UND vs Portland: Likely Score 41-21...Actual 50-20. UND vs Montana: Likely Score 23-24...Actual 28-30. UND vs Valparaiso: Likely Score 43 -7...Actual 58-7. UND just slightly better than they should be doing based largely on last years performance...which was not obviously a good year in UND Football. Im just pointing out there was 1) no worries at this point last year 2) the cupboard wasn't as bare as the record seems because they were also a key plays from winning and making the playoffs...including beating Montana. Biggest takeaway: lotta football left to play and most of these games, especially road games and/or vs good teams... Still remain coin flips....and those games are where the season is won or lost.
  18. Through four games. Both teams look the same. The only difference was "looked better at FBS game." But one FBS game one shouldn't put much stock in. (Let alone seeing KSU dropped hard) So we all saw it and got that little "wow boost"....this is called a "bias". Both teams played a "good Montana school" last year at this point....and the outcomes were essentially the same.
  19. I have claimed neither pessimism nor optimism.
  20. Youre using a sample size of 2024 entire season. Vs a few games this year. Your statistics teacher wouldn't be happy with you.
  21. Just like your earlier claim about this year "we were close a few points, couple plays from winning." Ot, one posession games, and then a defeated last game loss. "Last year the record reflected how bad they were....but not this season!" Short memory.
  22. We know the season really comes down to only a handful of remaining games: S Illinois NDSU USD SDSU ....best guess.....500? Win the 2 at home and lose the two on the road?
  23. Not disagreeing with anything you wrote. Just adding last years team was a few key plays from making the playoffs too. Their record wasn't as bad as it seemed. Just like UND today 2-2 isnt as bad as it seems.
  24. We do know this team can easily blow big leads. We know they can beat up the skinny weaks kid at home. That's all we know.
  25. This team has won 2 games against cupcakes. Lost 2 games.... But "looks way better than last year." Sounds like a Viking fan pumping JJ after the Bears game. Only a fool thinks there's enough evidence to claim anything.
