  1. Doubt the store going from a SuperOne foods to a Hornbachers is having a major impact on Hugos future expansion plans (believe they already bought the land). Don't forget Hugos also just announced plans for a new downtown store. It'll be a snail race to see who wins: New hospital or new Hugos.
  2. ....All just part of Kennedy's master plan!
  3. Haven't you heard? He's so smart, he pissed off a person whose job is to give away millions, then got zero of his demands met... Just to get the info out in the public sphere which reinforced the current agreement more!
  4. Except, The 52% didn't start in 2001. It was right around when the Ralph built UND a brand new basketball arena and the Ralph needed a way to pay for it...
  5. Hence the term "role players."
  6. The former administration also agreed to it, must not be nearly as bad in the big picture as some people think.
  7. It expired a year ago. UND signed basically the exact same agreement this last week and said they felt "very good" about the agreement.
  8. Some times the blue chips pick college hockey, some times they pick Major Juniors. It differs every year. But more and more are picking the college route which is great to see and only hope continues. Seven first rounders this year are playing or will be playing college hockey next year. That's great to see!
  9. Oliver Wahlstrom is an incoming college blue chip for Boston College. Most like to draw the line at "First Rounders" to be nice and include a few more players.
  10. That means the "real blue chips" were 1-12 "or so" this year.
  11. Another impressive draft for Boston University.
  12. Continues to show how generous that family has been.
  13. I thought Tychonick was the chippa.
  14. Sounds like the Richards family doesn't trust the University and what they say they'll do with the money after selling the land:
  15. On a related note, The Richards family is not happy the way the U is trying to sell their donated land, including writing to the higher ed board to try and block it.
  16. With exceptions, that's probably why the university now mandates all freshman must live on campus.
  17. "Back in my day" UND had so many students some had to start the semester staying in hotels around town until UND had rooms become available. Now I drive by Dakota Hall and it's a decimated, old, overgrown, unoccuplied, piece of property. A reminder of the Universities glory days.
  18. The Engelstad Family Foundation just gave $250,000 to ND Farm Rescue.
  19. NCAA Hockey Committee: We don't want to help prepare you for the NHL.
  20. When UND athletics is a little cash strapped they have the option to use "institutional funds." If you're a fan of athletics and dislike music therapy this is a good thing. It also helped trim the athletic department fat (cough womens hockey cough).
  21. To buy on ice projectors or video replay boards for the Betty?
  22. Yes, Ralph Engelstad Arena Inc is making money off the arena. REA Inc (and or other arena management groups) is a non-profit that takes money from UND ticket sales, operates the arena and gives back money to UND they don't "use." The money stays between the arena or UND. Each entity wants more.
