  1. The scoreboard at Tampa' s arena was only $5 million. Should have just spent the extra $1.2 mil and went all out!
  2. The Betty just got new video replay boards.
  3. Take a piss. Grab a beer. And head back to the line. Repeat.
  4. I know they need more bathrooms tailgating, even though I didn't tailgate, because as I was walking in to the stadium...a guy asks "are you security?"...."yeah" the other replied...."There's a person trying to break into the Verizon tower to pee."

3,140 last year vs NDSU on a Wednesday night in September.
  6. "The Alerus Center hires a third-party company to pick up the trash after tailgating." I'll call it economic development.
  7. It's obvious. Only one has good taste in clothing.

They looked good "in the first half." Impressed with the second year NDSU coach. They might be a force in the near future.

Am I watching UND football?!....falling apart in the second half! Choke job.
  12. The low tide helped UND cut the fat of women's hockey and other sports. If $400,000 a year is taken by the REA (the 52% that pays for the Betty), that would go directly back to football, how much directly goes to football now with the millions of saving a year by cutting those sports? UND athletics facility wise is one of the tops in its class. It's like debating if we want new leather seats for the Lambo, Bentley, or Corvette.
  13. I was referring to the scoreboard. As the locker rooms was private money. Things need to be updated and upgraded over time. You can argue how much. The university will own the arena and now they won't need to upgrade things as much at the Ralph had REA kept it the same as it was in 2001. Just like how much UND upkept the old Ralph (Ralph Engelatad had to give money to UND even back then to upgrade it), Hyslop, and Memorial Stadium. I've seen a history at UND about upkeeping their athletic facilities that doesn't paint the prettiest picture.
  14. I'm saying people like Jonathan Toews gave money for that specific purpose.
  15. Lots of those REA renovations were done with private donations. Every dollar spent now saves the university a dollar later.
  16. If you need proof that new facilities will immediately bring in a ton load more national championships....look no further than the new Ralph.....
  17. New screens at REA will pay for themselves over the years....without anyone noticing.
  18. Cool new images. Seen lots of those dreams and "Master Plans" over the years from the different UND presidents. I can't even remember how long the talks about renovating Gamble Hall and Memorial Union have been around....and Memorial Stadium too!
  19. Hopefully the new scoreboard upgrade will be more noticeable than the last.
  20. I see last game they put up a small waist high barrier on the end of the catwalk and had a drink serving station inside and some tables.
  21. They should make the rope longer then. The rope make it "fair." First in first out. And eliminates those lines stretching from the concessions to the back wall. At least now theres more room to walk around the concession lines.
  22. EWU was probably thinking they could never compete with what U of Montana had: a nearby conference school with fans, tradition, way nicer facilities, and only "game" in the entire state. There's always an excuse for something til it's not.
  23. Was aware of Cirrus. But didn't realize how big Amsoil was until recently with some of my powersport acquisitions. And them having their name on Duluths new hockey arena. Cirrus in Grand Forks at least physically shrunk when Amazon took over part of their building. And then Amazon shrunk and didn't need that building anymore. And now Amazon's presence is going to be virtually eliminated in Grand Forks as the employees start to work at home. They don't need to hire people physically located in Grand Forks anymore. Was disappointed to hear about Polaris moving it's HQ to the cities when it happened as I spent a few summers in Roseau growing up. Crazy to see these big powersport companies all located in Northern Minnesota. (Artic Cat and Polaris were essentially started by the same person.) Textron recently bought Artic Cat. Could be some changes coming to that company. Before the purchase the HQ moved from trf also to Minneapolis. St Cloud has started to become a big Artic Cat hub now with their engines and Atv engineering coming out of there.
