  1. Fair enough. I guess I didn't look at it that way. I'll get used to this way, then. BTW, I like the new format.
  2. Is this option already available? Or is it something that is coming?

Well, Sweeney seems to have discovered that Bryan Lundbohm did leave the team after last year. I don't think I heard him say Bryan's name one time. For those that didn't listen on the radio, what did you think of how Sweeney gushed every time Sejna touched the puck? My god, it was like he was watching Gretzky out there. If I have to hear "Look out, Sejna with the puck" one more time, I'm gonna puke! Or "this kid's incredible"... hello, Pat, Sejna's good, but you're announcing for UND, not against them. Everyone knows he's good, we just don't need you to tell us 27,000 times. Oh, and how about the "shorthanded goal is what will really haunt UND"? Ya think? Didn't need to hear that 27,000 times, either. Kinda figured that out the first time. I definitely need to watch where I can listen to the radio tonight. Enough venting for now. dagies, I turned on the radio right after the game and, unless I missed it, I don't think Blais came up to talk to Tim. Must have been a long trek that they didn't think he could make. Or else he wanted to get in the locker room and chew Massen's ass ASAP Schneider, Fuher, Canady, Bochenski, now Massen. That's five freshmen that have been to the doghouse. Four came out "getting it". Hopefully Massen does as well.

What is the over/under on how many times Pat Sweeney calls out Bryan Lundbohm's name this weekend? I'm going with 13. (But I'm not going to count them. )
  5. Anyone noticed the soap opera in Duluth concerning TJ Caig? It seems that he played in an inter-squad scrimmage for the Tri-City Americans (WHL) as part of tryout camp two summers ago. Some fans are acting like this is the end of the world if he were to be ruled ineligible. I posted on USCHO that this situation had occurred before (here at UND) and the severity of the punishment was not that big of a deal. Remember that Lee Goren played one game in the WHL and Colby Genoway has as well. The punishment is one year, plus the number of games played the following year. This would mean that, if Caig were to be ruled ineligible, he would miss the remainder of the games this season, plus the games in the fall semester next year, plus one game Spring semester next year. Big deal. It's not like the guy is going to come in and be a world beater right now. The team has won one league game and, except for the win in St. Cloud, is already playing "for next year". Here's a link to an article mentioning the TJ Caig saga. http://web.duluthnews.com/content/duluth/2...ts/du_P0117.htm And, dagies, I agree with you about SCSU needing to mind their own business. Seems like SCSU has proclaimed itself the "police" for the WCHA (and NCAA, for that matter).

I'd leave all four anyway . No, He'll take Palmiscno if he can go.

Actually, he wants to be a trainer. I wonder how he is going to become a trainer since he is a journalism student. The Google.com translator for some reason changed "trainer" to coach. Pretty funny, though. GDM, thanks. I posted the long link since it used the translator, figuring I would save some time for people. I didn't screw anything up, did I? (as far as the bbs goes, I mean)

Found Dixon Ward using www.eurohockey.net He plays for the SC Langnau Tigers in the Swiss A League. Brian Bonin is one of his teammates. I couldn't find a web page that wasn't in French or German, so I'm not posting any links. Scratch that, I found one I removed this long link. See my post below. GDM, moderator. Brandt

    B. Connelly, Faul, Leinweber & Palmiscno will stay home. That will have Fournier going along as the extra skater. My guess, anyway. With this "19 skaters" rule being in place, how does Minnesota replace two guys for their second game with Wisconsin? Demarchi and another guy both dressed Friday, but were replaced Saturday. Just another case of the "Minnesota rules" or what?
  10. I thought you guys were going to rip on the stupid pop-up adds on the Herald website...
  11. This game could be HUGE! It has to go a long ways towards the lessons of learning how to win the game. As the Tims said, how fitting that David Hale scores the winning goal after playing a less than stellar game to that point. Brandt struggled with the simpler shots today. Two of the goals scored by Michigan didn't hit the back of the net. But he did make some great saves. He's a freshman and he'll learn that he has to pay attention ALL THE TIME and that he should not SLUMP TO THE ICE after allowing a goal. By the way, did anyone catch the interview with Justin Duberman? He had lots of good things to say about Siembida. He said the kid is going to impress.
  12. Virg Foss interviewed Mark Fabian (Erik's dad) for a story last week. He said that his son wanted to play college hockey at UND and only UND. He is prepared to play another year in the USHL if that is what it takes for him to get a chance to skate for the Sioux. Looks like the chances are pretty good that he's still coming to UND. I'm pretty sure it is for 2003, though.
  13. I am not sure if I will be able to be within earshot of the 96.1 signal or not. I am currently listening to the webcast from XL93.com and it is HORRIBLE! The sound is totally muffled and at times very difficult to comprehend. Plus there is a really good song playing right now, Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" from the Say Anything soundtrack. What a great movie! Anyway, is it like this all the time? Or is it my settings that are screwed up? If it is me, I apologize. If it is not me, how can you people that live around the US stand it? Have you bitched about it. I know it is better than nothing, but not by a whole lot. Later. Go SIOUX!!!!! New Goalie

Kev, I agree about Ranfranz. How can anyone think he is the man if he didn't even make the team in the fall. The kid from Minot State is now not coming to UND. In my opinion, the way this team turns it around is some sort of platoon system with Jake Brandt and Kollar. Sofie, maybe only in an emergency???

    Mazurak

If it is an MCL injury vs. an ACL injury, that would bode better for Chad getting back on the team. With hockey players, it seems as though they come back sooner from knee injuries for some reason. I thought I saw somewhere that a torn MCL would mean a two month recovery time. That would be a mid-February return. An ACL is a much more severe injury. So, basically I don't have any answers to your question.
  16. Lee Marvin from Warroad is a likely walk-on. He skipped his last two years in high school to play in Lincoln for the Stars. He's also a legacy, so they figure he'll come pretty cheap. He's OK, but not even close to Commodore (or Roche).
  17. Andy definitely skated right off after that goal. I was watching him and it looked like something was wrong. He kept looking at his glove, then his skates. He wasn't in any hurry, either. Then I wondered if he was hurt or something. He went straight to the locker room as far as I know. Talk about a strange chain of events. As someone said above, I don't think Blais had TIME to pull Andy as he was already down the runway before anyone really noticed.
  18. From what I hear, UND has signed letters from Parise, Greene, & Sedevie. Tyler Hirsch, also at Shattuck St. Mary's, is a possible walk-on as a forward. More should come out on that shortly. I also have not heard that Fylling is definitely coming back. Fabian is a 2003. Murray is not a 100% for sure committment yet. My feeling is that there still must be a defenseman or two still out there that Blais and Co. are after. We lose Schneekloth and Mazurak, but only have one signed to come in. I don't think the recruiting is done for the year. It wasn't that many years ago that UND signed NO ONE early. It was all done in the later period. It used to be that only a couple of the top guys signed anywhere early and that was mostly the top 5 guys in MN. They always signed with the Gophers and we generally didn't have a chance at those guys anyway.
