Yes, I'm biased, but that tic-tac-toe five pass goal was the best play of the year in college hockey, let alone the NCHC. Odd that it would be losing to a goal that wasn't even scored in a conference game.

looks like a "goodbye" note. As others stated, his hockey ability is without question as we are talking about a kid that could be a top ten pick in the 2017 NHL draft. Losing in the title game is adversity. Taking off your second place medal is not the best way to deal with that adversity. No one likes to lose in that moment. Seems to be a trend lately though after watching the last couple of MN state hoops tourneys and now this. First time I guess I've seen it done in hockey.

I get where you are coming from, but don't see a market for a "transitional logo", as UND is certain to block any representation of their name at the very least. As much as those 73% dislike the new nickname, and I'm certainly included in that though not certain on the numbers, the Fighting Hawks is not going away in the foreseeable future. We are stuck with it. And SME has been tasked with creating the new official logo to accompany that nickname. I must be missing something.

I've seen "never in the 50 years of this tournament" or some derivative a couple times in this thread. A couple questions: How many years has high school hockey for girls existed in North Dakota? Does anyone remember when the girls state tournament was run just like a typical youth tourney on the weekend? And was played in somewhere out west like Dickinson when the boys were in the REA? I have to think having it in the same town at least is a hell of a lot better. I also read that the hs girls would "love to play on the Olympic sheet". Would our resident (retired) girls hockey coach address this? After all, "ice is ice" as we've been told in this thread. (not sure I wanted to go there again, but don't think there will be a context interpretation issue in this instance.) What's the uproar about, again?
