What's really funny about that poll is you can continue to vote in it. No sense in having a poll be "one and done" voting. That way people that I won't mention are able to vote their "lose it" selection all day long. I'm sure word went out to all the "people" that have computer access that this poll was running. They weren't able to contact the people without phones, though, as they don't have phones.

Duncan had been out on the power play seconds earlier, allowing Porter to be on the ice at the time of the goal. This was according to Tim Henessey and Greg Lotysz.
-
I heard that they took the DQ away from Spirko. Shepard must have grown some cajones.
-
I believe the response from Lotysz after Cummings simply skated away was "Get that guy a saucer of milk!"
-
Really? The first offer he received? And I understand the part about wanting to be part of a "winning tradition", but at St. Cloud State? Who's advising this guy? Interesting.

So how was the drive back from Madison? Spot on with "Bison played HARD" bit. (Figured you saw the game to know that.) I came through there late on Thursday night on the way back from Chicago and the roads were great, though they were expecting snow during the day Friday. Hopefully that didn't cause a headache for travelling. Oh, I wasn't surprised the Bison won the game either. I mean, seriously, a match-up of the #'s 164 and 13 teams in the country? And at the home court of the #13? At the very least, a pick 'em. I like the comparison to the Steelers/Colts game. Very (eerily) similar situations, for sure. Maybe I better catch SportsCenter later on and see if those guys catch that angle of the story. You need to stick your top notch analytical skills to the sport you know best and forget about basketball. Congrats to the Bison basketball team on a win that, like another poster stated, would likely have led off SportsCenter if it hadn't been for three former undefeateds taking it on the chin in the same day.

So, d1sioux, would you get your old job back if RB was named the AD later on today? Someone asked earlier in this thread and you must have missed it.

I disagree. To nullify Potulny and, in this case, Irmen, you need to hit them every chance you get. That is when the Sioux are playing their best. You can't not hit them in hopes that if you do a penalty might be called. Hits from behind are not acceptable and should be called. This should have been called something else and been a two minute penalty.
-
It sure appeared that way on the replay.
-
It was called by the AR. I don't think it was an "obvious" check from behind, either.
-
I was thinking Prpich needed to get himself a goal in the final minute of the 1st to keep himself in the lineup. Pretty sure he'll be singled out in the locker room.

Damn good thing that puck the Gopher player hit after the horn didn't go into the stands.
-
Nice payback phantom "holding the stick" call.
-
And our team responds by taking a penalty...
-
My wife said the same thing, but then I pointed out that the replay they showed on FSN was from the Gophers game with Niagara last week.
-
Anyone else think that Mazocco needs to change his undies after every time Kessel touches the puck? So much for The Sicatoka's call for discipline...
-
And the conversation was basically OVER when you came to the thread and brought it to the top again.

That's quite the list. Gophers, on paper, will have one hell of a freshman class next year. Would be nice to see Potulny and Irmen move on to the AHL ranks after this season, hopefully after being eliminated from the regional in REA. Scouts raved about Johnson's play in Vancouver. So much so that him playing college hockey at all may not even happen, especially if he's chosen #1 overall. Of course, it all depends on who is drafting 1st. In that respect, Kessel and Toews could each likely be done with college hockey after this season. For a draft class that has been labeled "not too deep", it certainly will be one that will have some interesting outcomes, especially to college hockey fans.

I definitely read the whiney tone into the headline and the story itself and don't think I'm alone in doing so. Then, it was quite early when I read it the first time.

The University Senate is at it again. Alumni from CAS and from the School of Engineering and Mines will be interested to see the way their respective dean's voted. Even though there was a roll-call vote, the reporter must have been in too big a hurry to get the story to print that he didn't include the results. Student Body President Bobby Haskins: Also, with a somewhat whiny headline, here is another story from today's paper: "Kupchella has been hosting tribal councils". Mr. Dodds seems disappointed that he didn't know about this until the meeting.
