From GF Herald article linked above... I don't think it truly is an "us" issue with Jeanotte. It looks more like a "me" complex, which would go great lengths to explain why Kupchella wouldn't press the speed dial # to Leigh's office every time he had a thought concerning the nickname. Might have something to do with Jeanotte being a jackbag, not that I have any personal knowledge of that being the case. It sure is funny how Jeanotte can go from being quoted in a dedication program as saying to saying his most recent quote in the heraldo. After nearly 30 years, UND was GREAT. After "30 - some years", UND is BAD? Hopefully the Herald has someone with the cajones to put the quote in the paper taken directly from the dedication program. Seems that it wouldn't be a good idea for a person to hold their breath waiting for that to happen. On another note, how much did PCM have to pay to get that great letter published?

When are they going to officially announce "Loo" as the new PA "Voice of the Sioux"? Did he work the Wild game tonight?

Here we go... NDSU is GREAT! Bring on the GOPHERS!!! NDSU plays the most difficult schedule in D1-(AA). UND is terrible. Thomas is a big pansy. Kup-cake doesn't have the balls to play the mighty Bison! NDSU would beat UND with 7 guys on the field. NDSU may have the talent to beat NEBRASKA next year! Greatest NDSU team since Phil Hansen played. UND couldn't beat Montana Tech! blah blah blah Who freakin' cares?

I thought the same thing when I first read the thread. I certainly hope that the mistakes made/lessons learned from that tragic event have been considered in the planning of this one. Wasn't Hak on the team back then? Or did he miss it by a year or so?

This council is probably quite similar to the one out of SD that, in 2001, endorsed UND's use of the Fighting Sioux name. Only that one was tossed aside as "irrelevant" and was likely full of those awful "hang around the fort" indians. I'm sure this "council" will be looked at by 'GrahamKracker' as "official".

Leigh Jeonotte on Fox News at 9 tonight: (paraphrasing) "UND really does try to use the name respectfully. There is just no policy in place for incidents. No policy in place for people that are disrespectful." I only heard this once, so if anyone else saw it, please correct my attempt. Key words, which I couldn't believe he said, are in bold. Also mentioned in the story was that the issue again was discussed today in Bismarck and that the Sioux nickname is disrespectful because it means "snake".

Exactly. Where is the differing opinion going to come from? I would not be surprised at all if Kupchella didn't go today. If Mr. Sage (assumption) is as cordial in person to him as he has been on this message board, who would want to go and listen to someone spout like that for any period of time? He'd be challenging Dr. K to go outside to throw down in the first 30 seconds. Real diplomatic.

Pretty sure the only person there with the intention to incite something will be GrahamKracker. (Or Leigh Jeonette, Lucy Gange, Ira Taken Alive, or whoever the he** he/she is.)
