  1. Goehring was waived by Chicago. I don't think he had played in a game. Info must have been lost from this thread because it was posted when it happened. Didn't know Notermann was an education major...
  2. Will this news mean another stint in the show for Bochenski?
  3. Rick Helling grew up in Lakota and went to Fargo for high school. That was my point.
  4. So he's about as "from Grand Forks" as Rick Helling is from Fargo?
  5. He's from Grand Forks.
  6. I think you're right with 7. He wore 27 as a freshman.
  7. Kevin Aronson was from Crary. Kevin Burckhard was from Lakota. Did they both play at Lake Region for two years? I should remember but don't. This topic about missed high school players was covered a while back on this board. Alot of these misses were after Mac left and that is no coincidence.

Now I realize that he won't play noseguard, BUT who would have projected Mark Callahan as a noseguard? Or how about Ross Brennan? Both were pretty decent high school running backs.

And you're arguing with me about this because... Should I have added "on my part" after " in my previous post for you to understand that I was simply SPECULATING? Jeez.

I don't think what I said was a slight to him at all. He has the physical tools, the frame, the work ethic, and the potential to be a dominant player at UND, no matter what position the coaches decide he should play. If every player was at the position of "his choice", every team in America would have a roster full of wannabe quarterbacks. By no means am I saying he won't be a middle linebacker in college. I certainly am in no position to make that decision. It is all speculation.
  11. But it is so easy to simply stand back and whine/complain and blame EVERYONE else for all of your problems. I had a professor/advisor in college when I was at UMC that always made a point to his students by saying "Remember... when you are busy pointing your finger at someone else for all of your problems, there are three other fingers on that same hand pointing right at YOU!"

Anderson would make a heck of a noseguard with about 35-40 pounds more on him. Or maybe TE? He's faster than Kleinsasser was at that age and already bigger. With his speed, would he be better suited on offense carrying the ball, or on defense hawking it? Gratzek looks to be born to play middle linebacker. Great question. Hopefully it isn't an either/or situation. At least it shouldn't be. Would imagine both of these guys may get real serious looks at higher levels than UND after most recent performances. TV guys couldn't stop talking about Gratzek yesterday. And Anderson's senior year was incredible, minus the title game of course. If indeed it comes down to being an either/or situation, it will likely be because one of them ended up at a higher level.
  13. Weren't "mako"'s posts on this and the other thread posted before on these boards, probably between November 4 and November 22? They seem too familiar to me.
  14. Does the sun rise in the east? {sorry} My bad. Here's the Fox Sports North broadcast schedule for tonight. T-Wolves bouncy ball vs. Milwaukee instead of hockey.

He looked to me like an Eric Schmidt-type or a bigger Mike Mooney-type out there. Great nose for the football.
  16. There are certainly a number of 'what-if's' that factor into recruiting top players. I don't think "You probably won't get much playing time" is one of the tools coaches use. I could be wrong.
  17. If he's as good as advertised, playing time won't be an issue anywhere. That's nearly as over-used as an after the fact assessment as when people say "The Gophers pulled their offer." or "We didn't want him anyway."
  18. Kyle Richter? Judd Blackwater? Interesting to see Grand Forks Dr. Parker Eberwein's son is a goalie for the Oilers. He played at Shattuck the last couple of years.
  19. Heard something about staying "in a Holiday Inn Express last night"...
  20. I've seen him play more than just at some summer hockey festivals. Speaking of that, a kid doesn't get picked to play on any team called "Team USA" if he isn't a quality player. Anyway, I find it quite humerous that you can come on here and say that he is "defensively lacking" (I know you attributed that to scouts, but come on) and suggest that maybe he would need a year in the USHL, having likely NEVER seen him play a game. Forney is a great hockey player and a great kid. Sioux fans are going to enjoy watching the energy and skill that he brings to the game. The Sioux coaches have recognized that and I trust that they know what they are doing. If he needs a year in the USHL, and I don't think he does, that will be a decision between the Sioux coaching staff and the Forney family.
  21. USHL release
  22. Speaking of the Virg...
  23. Forum letter to the editor - 10/30/2005 from another "misguided" person.
  24. I wasn't there, just watching on TV, but wasn't the guy that took the shot in this sequence Watkins? Was this when Zajac dropped a pass to Stafford, who sent a pass to the goal-mouth, where the [shooter] was stopped on a great anticipation save by Fischer? Sweeney and Bredahl said it was Watkins. If that wasn't the play you were meaning, it was another beauty.
