  1. Sioux name in the blogs
  2. Bishop going to Vernon (for sure this time)
  3. Isn't that the recruiting game? Hopefully the kid you decide to offer a scholarship to is better than the kids that you don't. Probably something each and every coach in every sport hopes. Is there something you can add about the two that you mentioned that would make them a better choice? Stats? Scouting report? Or is it just your own speculation? I guess I put my trust in what the Sioux coaches do as far as recruiting goes. CSB rankings, while they may be somewhat relevant, don't have any measure in the success a player will have at the college level. They are basically a prediction of whether or not a kid is going to become a professional player. A number of factors when that player is from the age of 17 and up make that final determination.
  4. Hard to say, but Tim Hennesey has said a number of times that Chris Porter is the fastest Sioux skater.
  5. I agree. It is a new season, afterall. And while we're at it, can we stop with all the sarcastic "under the bus" comments, too? Talk about getting old. (Most) people that post on here are Sioux fans. When people aren't playing up to their perceived capabilities, fans sure should be able to call them on it. It sure as hell doesn't make the complaining party a bandwagonner. Some might even say it shows some PASSION, which could be something this current Sioux team is in search of at this time.
  6. Is it even possible to have any idea about this at this point? Seriously?
  7. Are you thinking of something along the lines of "Scream YELLOW!"??
  8. Tapping kegs seemed to be a pretty popular major back in the day. Ever go by the "Mule Barn" on Dyke Ave.? 16th and 5th. 16th & 4th? a house a couple blocks east of the Medical School 2100 University. the blue house next to the kc's on University "House with the pink door" 123 Walnut. 3-something Hamline. blue house on 1st near Deraney's Liquors Under Brekke Travel. 5th by the water treatment plant apts by the EGF Valley Dairy on 17th. Loft above the Ski & Bike Shop. I heard about things at those places. Never went there, though.
  9. How about for an overager in the BCHL (or any other junior league) that is about to turn 21 that could come in over Christmas? (I don't have anyone specific in mind.) There are always kids that blossom later on and "missed the boat" age-wise to get recruited for a scholarship. Just throwing it out there. Maybe Hak will discuss it tonight on the show.

    Swept again!

And you know this how? From reading threads on this message board?
  11. Timeline according to Schlossman's Blog.
  12. Would this (Tyler) be "Dr. McBain's" grandson? He delivered me and one of my sister's back in the day.
  13. Fixed your post. Works better with the whole 80's thing you got going on.
  14. Not making the comments at you per se. It's just a general comment. Read into it whatever you wish. Along the same lines as Leigh Jeonotte, why do you still collect a paycheck from UND? Disgruntled employees are no good in any business situation. They do nothing for the company, or school in this case, except attempt to bring down the employees that are truly valuable. Your comments on here that continually belittle Mr. Buning and his staff are getting quite tiresome. If there are issues that you have problems with at UND, then do something about it. Bringing things up that can not be substantiated in an anonymous manner here sure isn't going to solve anything.
  15. Then there's always the hostility towards the spoiled rich white girls that so want to be popular that they feel activism is the only way to go. Don't forget to mention that one. We're a tough lot, the posters at siouxsports.com.
  16. So, Sid Hartman is now the authority on the "rold" of an Athletic Director? Well, I guess Sid did create the Lakers franchise; was instrumental in getting the old Washington Senators relocated to Minnesota; not to mention the overall success the Vikings have attained in their history; and who can forget how he was able to convince the lawmakers at the state capitol in St. Paul that they needed to build a hockey arena so that the NHL would expand back to the state. Maybe Sid could use someone to bring him some clean, fresh towels.
  17. From the Star Tribune... link
  18. PCM, you're being paged in another thread...
  19. Defense stayed in the locker room. This color commentator keeps calling the Sioux "South Dakota".
  20. What?
  21. So with the ProActive commercial and now the Swivel Sweeper, did we miss anything? edit: The above was not a joke. This is what I was able to see on the FSSN on Arvig cable in Park Rapids, MN. Did this happen to anyone else watching the game on the FSSN? There seems to be issues every time I give up my tickets and don't travel to the game thinking I can watch it at home. Seriously, if you're going to shut it off before the damn game is over, why put it on the cable system at all? They're trying really hard to force me to get directv. If it wasn't for the high speed internet that they offer as part of a tv/phone/internet package, I would have done it a long time ago.
  22. Fair enough.
  23. Didn't say "threads". I said "posts".
  24. Because of a thread that has 10 replies (to this point), and a smattering of score updates in the UND/USA thread? Are there any posts on gpl mentioning the UND/USA game?
  25. Smaby was not a force his entire Sioux career. Most of the year last year, yes. But he struggled most of both his freshman and sophomore seasons. Maybe that was only at the home games, though??? Mike Commodore struggled his freshman year and part way into his sophomore season. Matt Greene struggled his freshman year and for a bit into his sophomore season. Joe Finley struggled as a freshman but showed some grit down the stretch, and thus far into his sophomore season, to say he isn't struggling is not facing reality. That being said, this year is far from over and he has some time to turn it around. His situation certainly isn't unique to followers of the Sioux program.
