  1. While this may, or may not, be true, what good does it do at this point to even make the suggestion? Are we going to call a "do over" and get him a full four years of eligibility and send him to the USHL right now? Impossible. Do you think Forney himself has been happy with the level of his contribution to the team? I have no idea. Are you sure that what he's doing in practice isn't helping the rest of the team? Again, I have no idea. Maybe give Hakstol a call and ask him. Had Zajac not left early last year, this wouldn't even be a topic to discuss. Forney wouldn't be here. All you experts (or geniuses - *copyright Sid Hartman ) on this site have sure made it a chore to come here lately.
  2. So, 3 (or 4) teams refuse to play UND. There are HUNDREDS of others that have NOT refused to play UND. You're no Sioux fan.
  3. Think they ain't?
  4. Are you skipping the 1st period? Puck drops at 7:07.
  5. Actually, the day of. Ahhh.... the Vast Fighting Sioux Conspiracy?
  6. Heard he was closing in on discovering the identity of the young girl in Grand Forks that has been unmercilessly stalking him since he arrived in GF and enrolled at UND.
  7. Just think if Hakstol could convince Sid the Kid and Ovechkin to both go the college route...
  8. I agree as well. proof of my opinion
  9. While that may or may not be true, the issue has been discussed here numerous times before. No matter where the students are placed, they will obstruct the view of suiteholders if they stand the entire game. This was a flaw in the design of the building from the early planning stages. If you get a chance to attend the Final 5 at the Xcel, make note of the height from the top row in the lower level to the bottom of the suite. The REA is missing about 3 feet of wall space. In my opinion, the biggest obstacle for "atmosphere" at the REA has been the lack of consistency of the product.
  10. Explain this one, please.
  11. Have you watched any games live this season? Or just watched TV; or just listened to the radio? I'd like to know how many minutes per game JF is averaging. That would be pretty telling. +\- means very little. How many times have we iced the puck when not being pressured what-so-ever and then the opponent scored on the ensuing face-off? Who iced the puck? (or shot it into the crowd?)
  12. Word of caution to those of you attending the game in Bemidji... pay attention! They have 4 foot glass on the sides and the puck comes over it in a hurry. We were at a game there a couple weeks back on "Park Rapids Night" at BSU and a 20-something girl got her forehead split open pretty severely. She was five rows up from the bottom and the puck went right over my wife's head, as well as my 3 year old. I'm sure that she received a large number of stiches. We were glad it wasn't one of our kids. They took the person that was hit out on a stretcher. Even if you are paying attention, the person next to you might not be. Be aware and stick up your hand for them, too, if you need to. Trust me, they'll appreciate it.
  13. Like making them walk 30 miles is a better option.
  14. Recent Sioux freshmen that have had less than stellar years: Bryan Lundbohm Matt Henderson Lee Goren etc. There are many more; likely more that have NOT had an impact than those that have. In the WCHA, it is IMPOSSIBLE to rely on freshmen to lead your team to greatness. It is very rare for even sophomores to be scoring leaders. Can we have a little patience with these freshmen?
  15. Consider the source. Most people here do.
  16. It is correct in that Forney has missed game time this season due to injury. Is it a fair assertion? No.
  17. Oh, so you mean like when people criticize how Joe Finley has been playing to this point? Or Lamoureaux? Or any of the freshmen?

    Insight Bowl

The new contract apparently didn't take effect until January 1, 2007.
  19. It seems that NDSU fans assume that all UND teams will struggle as NDSU's women's BB team has. What is the reason for that? Is it not possible that UND's teams could be successful, like NDSU's football and basketball teams have? Of course it is. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
  20. They told us that the popularity of getting personalized hockey jerseys was so high that they thought they would try the same thing with football jerseys. We bought a couple of the "old" ones with the number 83 on them for our boys since they were on clearance. I think we made the right choice.
  21. Who cares about all that? Everyone is sitting on edge awaiting your assesment of Team Canada's play today.
  22. Thanks for posting that link. Lots of cool places in my home state. Hopefully there won't be too many additions to this in the coming years. As for the topic... grew up in "town" in Tolna, ND, 80 miles west of Grand Forks. Attended UND from 90 to 94, leaving to work on the railroad. Returned to the area in August of 97 and received degree from UofM - Crookston in 1999. Now living in resorty Park Rapids.
  23. There is a little more about it here Basically, for Hunter to play an additional three years at a US college without sitting out a "transfer year", he must play juniors again next year, while earning an associates degree. He would then be able to transfer to a four year school starting with the 2008-09 season and play right away. As I understand things (please correct me if I am wrong) if he does NOT earn an associates degree, and still plays juniors next year, after sitting out a "transfer year" he would lose a year of eligibility because of the 5 year clock that started when he enrolled at UND this fall. You could also read the link I posted earlier for more details. Bishop going to Vernon (for sure this time)
  24. You did, but there were some details that had to be worked out for it to happen. As you saw in other posts in this thread, he was added to Lincoln's roster (USHL). If it had been determined that classes he took in Canada would not be transferrable to a US college, he would have had no choice but to play in Lincoln, if he wanted to keep three years of eligibility.
