Tell me you're returning eight guys who all started games, and it's an upperclassman dominated group, that set the stage for a run based offensive attack but that had some injury and consistency problems I'd say you're in a better place that the first group. I'd argue a big part of that is weather. Passing is far easier with a warm football and dry field versus a cold ball and treacherous footing. That said, the game to game fluctuation of a passing game ("hot", "clicking", choose your cliche) is far greater than that of a running game and a stout defense no matter the conditions.
