I recall the same. Since that early rendering they've done major work on the soccer pitch in front of REA. I think the still prefer natural surface like at REA. I think softball on University makes sense. The grandstand could double as a nice "gateway" to the campus from the east.

Well, time for the "do-over!" Games start in 12 days, August 9. https://www.iihf.com/en/events/2022/wm20 Here's the US Evaluation Camp roster. https://teamusa.usahockey.com/2022njecroster

So Coppin State must've ... Cop'd ... out ... on us. If they bailed that's on them, not Chaves. And our new VB regime may still have time to find a fourth.
-
Like geaux says, it's in the plan. Look in background of this rendering. There's a field there. And the way the stands are set it makes a nice entry view to campus coming in from the east on University. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FYORm3kXoAIAiVJ?format=jpg&name=small

Chris Kolanos and Chuck Kobasew ... oh, wait, nevermind. Sorry to bring that back up Karl.

Pull Fordham's schedule and they play Coppin State in Grand Forks on Sep 9. Fourth team.

Carson Wentz taking Philly err Indy err DC by storm
The Sicatoka replied to SiouxVolley's topic in Non-collegiate sports
Has Wentz lived up to a first-round pick? No. Am I big on stories based on anonymous sources? No. -
Something like that. The crappy aluminum storm door that slammed was most memorable.

Late 1980s for sure.

Long long ago (golf just invented), I worked in GF one summer and had a schedule that allowed me long weekends. I'd play Ray (cheap with ID). One Friday night I paid my fees to "some guy" (last bill in wallet) and went off by myself. I did my usual of fixing the worst of the divots I'd find. Finish the round and turns out that guy was watching me. He said "so you're the guy my crews have been telling me about." I wasn't sure what that meant. He said I fixed about 70 ball marks that round and that his crew told him "some guy" was doing that whenever he was out. Turns out he was the course pro and he made me a deal: Keep doing that and here's your comp'd season pass.

Listening to Tom Miller, guest on Nebraska radio ... Nebraska guys call UND "Nebraska of FCS" last season with all the close, find-way-to-lose games Miller not sure personnel issues all addressed, specifically FG kicking (35 yd FGs problem) MVFC is tough and opportunity: A single loss is not devastating to season like BSC; top half MVFC always get post-season looks Prediction: NDSU, SDSU, then cluster of five: MoiSt, UNI, SIU, USD, UND; then field Challenge of playing FBS: unique experience, within fan driving distance is new, Utah/Wash games were good experience, What should Nebraska worry about? Creative offense, "trickeration", Utah State game had 3 QB with TD pass, not ground-pound yet, new RB, UND plays pressure 3-4 D, exposes DBs; want to get after QB Stands out now? Maag, couple tackles may be all-conf Nebraska radio guy says UND's more important game is seven days later at UNI. Called UND easiest game on NU's schedule (duh, FCS game). Did acknowledge the travel NU will be doing before (Ireland game v NW'n). He sounded scared of a slow start "Utah State" scenario (go down 14) should it happen.

The staff, locals or Chinese nationals?

Note: I moved talk of BEK buying an OTA TV license to the UND Broadcast rights thread. It fits better.
-
Random thoughts: Midco doesn't have an OTA outlet. BEK now has OTA coverage statewide. This addition by BEK (a Grand Forks OTA) gets NW MN, and might get them to Winnipeg. I wonder if Midco and BEK could work a deal to get Midco's asset (UND TV) onto BEK's OTA towers to get UND into places without Midco cable. Or would that harm Midco's streaming option.

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

67%/33% for OT win? Seems right as only 2/3 (67%) of winning team's players are on the ice (4 instead of 6). -

Under the category of self-deluded ... ... SWAC ... "super conference" ... SWAC member Mississippi Valley State's entire athletic budget is less than what UND spends on hockey.
