  1. First, is it a thing or did some random Twitter see a speculative thread on a site like this (and run with it for clicks). Next, Fenton was NCHC commish and is Summit commish. This could be a move to consolidate administrative costs of both and essentially nothing more. I'd think UND, DU, and Omaha would be questioning why they are paying two commissioners when one (Fenton) has the experience to run all of it. If there was a reshuffle of the NCHC Summit hockey line-up I'd run with 'vindy's supposition: WMU and Miami move out; StT and ASU move in. (What WMU and Miami trigger beyond that is pure guess.)
  2. First things first: Was it a clean hit?
  3. Not at the cost of giving up a ‘seam up the dots’ pass to a breaking forward. If he was on the dots line that play goes D to D and the game goes more than ten seconds.
  4. More like ... "Candygram for Mister @MafiaMan... "
  5. At a 16F roster and a hopefully 9/3 mindset (not the old top 6 / bottom 6) I'd like another scorer after Johannes. But I'd really like a RH D.
  6. A non-hockey observation: Pecknold may have what looks like a bowl haircut, but he outkicked his coverage when it comes to spouse.
  7. If Schloss is correct and Johannes is 15F and they are looking at one more (16F) what they bring will be a huge tell to me as to if Berry has figured out the game is going to speed and skill and scoring. "Hobey" Fantilli had 64 points. That's Senden/Hain/Caulfield ... combined (53).
  8. Everyone ... a big Pecknold "I need a hug" group hug! But @Big A HG, you gotta go over by @MafiaMan and @Blackheart for it.
  9. Watched it again ... The Q play in OT was magnificent, but would've been easily prevented if MN4 (LD) had held the blue instead of moving forward and outward opening up a passing lane. I still don't understand what he saw that he moved up. It was like he was playing "1-3-1 hold the red". That move started the dominos: MN2 (RD) had to come across and chase; MN24 had been chasing, then realized he had to cover the far man but realized it late and was out of position. I don't understand MN4's play.
  10. This place sure is owly. I can't imagine what it'd be if Goldy had won ...
  11. You mean Perron and Emerson? Panzer got hurt. They could bring Croal if they had to. And two defensemen? They have four if not five.
  12. Wrong comparison. We got nothin' from Monty compared to Weatherby. If Johannes rolls a 5-10-15 (optimistic) and busts a guy's jaw for hacking on Blake (video, please) that's a far better "have to find a guy" pickup than Monty (and is comparable to Judd even).
  13. What part of "late backfill for Judd" don't you see?
  14. When the Q went down 2, I wrote them off. I posted "Game". As I've said, I was wrong. I underestimated Q. I forgot this game: On the road, harsh environment, give up 2 to go down one ... five unanswered.
  15. Like Wisconsin when they had 40 in the pipeline and anyone with fingers and toes could see the math didn't work? Our problem at D right now is Frisch didn't use the Covid year, Kleven signed, and 4, 6, and 24 portal'd out. If anything we might be pulling pipeline in early (see: Strathmann).
  16. This to me is the significant red flag. The rest is noise. I'm happy for the portal in one way: Last time we had a surprise departure we got Montgomery for Weatherby. Dare I predict Johannes for Caulfield turns out better.
  17. We have four Fs that'll be 19+ on Oct 1: Croal, Emerson, Panzer, Singleton. Two aren't ready, one's an enigma, the remaining is inbound. Of the other five pipeline Fs, Perron is ahead of schedule; the rest are on schedule.
  18. That should be the conversation, not Johannes the rental to replace Judd. So do it along with me ... because I have to the longer we don't hear about D ... In through the nose, out through the mouth, breathe in, exhale, serenity now, serenity now, ... in, exhale out, ...
  19. Sure am glad you didn't get a vote on recruiting Tucker Poolman <- the late-bloomer's late bloomer.
  20. Johannes was the second highest available scorer at his announcement. And he's big and his PIMs say mean. Again, he's a one-year backfill rental. Judd's rights being traded (PIT -> ANA) and then signed after he said he's returning probably caught them off guard. This is amazingly good under that scenario.
  21. Or is someone else scheduled for off-season work that they're concerned about? Not saying, just wondering aloud.
