  1. Be honest with yourselves: The lower bowl student section had open seats last year, even for key games. (Mory00 will probably be right about this year.) If you want to use the "old arena" argument you need to remember that the old arena student section was 2200 seats on one side of the arena, centered around the red line, going from ice level to the top row of the arena. Your best bet would be to try for 20% of the lower, 20% of the upper. PS - Have you guys come up with a better system than a lottery? There's a thread dedicated to ideas in this forum.
  2. And winning has its own unique allure as well.
  3. And the student government hoped to have a working system in place for this year's distribution.
  4. Nope. I hear guys away from the boards coming down the slot "calling". The (non-PA system) acoustics in there are pretty good. When the arena is empty you can be standing in a club room and talk to someone at center ice.
  5. 2300 seats all in the lower bowl? That'd be roughly 45% of the lower bowl. I hope you're not holding your breath waiting for that. The WCHA average is 20% of the arena: Try for 20% of the lower and 20% of the lower (rather than 10% of the lower and 30% of the upper like you have.) But beware: If those lower sections aren't completely full every night the donors will come a-callin' for those seats. There is one advantage to the students this year: Some donor may not like the new "50 degrees" lower bowl REA this season and may want to move to the upper. Again, don't hold your breath.
  6. Schneider needs an anti-fungal?
  7. Students have about 20% of REA. Check! Schneider needs a razor. Check!
  8. Lift your chin up and see your hero's. How soon they forget. EDIT: My mistake, your hero has a trucker's mustache. Don't bump your head on the wheel.
  9. Big talk. Go grow a porno mustache.
  10. Let's try this again: Lower bowl: 540 seats Upper deck: ~1600 seats Total students: ~2200 Total capacity: 11406 Student percentage: ~20% (About WCHA average.) Now the question: Are all of those ~2200 full for every home game? (We know the answer. That'd be "no".)
  11. Any question why Missouri-Rolla has decided to leave the MIAA for the Great Lakes Valley? http://morningsun.net/stories/063004/psu_20040630039.shtml
  12. Paula's in the Imperial Ice Palace.
  13. Apparently this year "up I-94" meant Butte (NAIA Montana Tech).
  14. Uh, spfreak, the son of the head coach of the LA Kings is on that second team (if your intention was to mention North Dakota players on those lists). Critique: - No WCHA players on their first team? - They got a defenseman named "Greene" on their first team, but it's not the best defenseman named "Greene" in college hockey.

  16. For this to work the percussion and bass sections and the director really have to tug back strong on the reigns. The urge is to speed up too much too fast. Don't let the crowd, or the rest of the band, increase the tempo. I remember feeling like the building was shaking off the foundation at times from the roar.
  17. This system would be for the ~500 student reserved lower bowl seats. The students without those can still get into the student upper deck general admission seats with student ID. (That's how they get a "percent attended" number.) Plus, empty seats would really hurt the lower bowl reserved seat seat holders the next season in the "percent attended" numbers part of the "merit" system.
  18. There are some that should be left behind.
  19. So let's come up with a better system for next year here.
  20. Clearly Student Government didn

  22. I'd love to see an usher enforce the "in your seat when the puck is in play" rule. People trying to get in and out of rows during play drives me nuts. I'd also sell "rush" seating again. I don't like seeing open seats in Sections 307-310. As far as operations of REA, they still operate under the mandate: The arena
  23. I noticed Bochenski also. I would guess it would have been part of his Hobey campaign. Oh well. He chose what he chose. I'm guessing "The Penalty Box" is, beyond restoring the Club Room exclusivity, also a part of the whole WJC concept: There will only one place serving on-sale in GF on Christmas day. Why not open another bar in it? I hear those Canadians like to drink beer, eh. I think the colder lower bowl is a plan to get those folks to move and slap their hands together to stay warm.
