  1. I'm going to take the middle ground here: Why even bring up NDSU? This conversation is about SCSU attendance (and UND on this site). Next, honestly, is claiming 15000 in a 10000 seat stadium much better than claiming 18000 in a 10000? That said, folks, let it go.
  2. I think that was part of the problem at the end of last season through today: Too much watching, not enough doing, by much of the team. Now that Bo and Parise are gone the team has to relearn how to do (score) because they spent too much time watching (someone else score). Remember when this class was freshmen? I preached patience. Now? Well, relearn quick seniors, 'cause time's up.
  3. You've hit exactly on the flip-side of the conversation: I'd guess Hak wants to get away from having a large class bulge like we have now (9 seniors, only 3 juniors) and is trying to smooth it out. (About six recruits per year seems like a better way than 10 one year and a couple the next.) And here we all thought running the team was just about standing behind the bench and lookin' sharp in a suit.
  4. You need to have 3 goalies or you'll wear them out in practice. I'd expect a spring signing (or walk-on). Is there somebody who wants to "Kollar" to Lamoureux's "Goehring"? I'd like to see a 15-8-3 roster. Based on dagies list that means I'd be looking for two forwards to sign in the spring. Why two forwards? If someone signs early that'll put the roster back to 14-8-3. (If Greene signed I'd move Marvin back to defense.) What this doesn't account for is if more than one non-senior leaves the team early. It seems that Hak has two forwards waiting in the wings (forwards, wings, get it? ) but for 2006. But I'm not running the team so I'll sit back and watch. However, if Hak's lookin' for low-cost roster advice ....
  5. I've watched FSSN on Ch. 23 at home, Ch. 39 in Bismarck, Ch. 99 at a relative's place .... that's why quoting a channel number is dangerous. Look at the dropdown list in the link.
  6. The latest forecast says "wet field, wet ball".
  7. The UND release says, "Those outside the WDAZ viewing area can see the game on cable on the Fighting Sioux Sports Network." If you have Midcontinent Cable you have the Fighting Sioux Sports Network. You can find what channel that's on in your area on the dropdown here. Cable One in Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo carries the Fighting Sioux Sports Network. I don't know on which channel. The key here: It's on the Fighting Sioux Sports Network. Whatever you watch hockey on you should be able to watch it at the same place.
  8. Hak's answer to a question that people, especially Tim Hennessy, should be smart enough to not ask (coaches can't talk about recruits!) was perfect: You can admit you are recruiting a kid and that's it. Heck, after a kid signs an LOI the school can't use their name, other than to announce the LOI, until the kid matriculates.
  9. Someone was giving answers so I'll ask: What could this team do if it matured to where it played a whole game at even strength (5x5 or 4x4)?
  10. This team seems to be losing races to the puck. Is it really as well conditioned as we believe it to be? Is it a lack of intensity? Is it just plain old slow? I still say Rory McMahon's two goals against CC should become mandatory viewing for the team. He got each because he kept his feet moving toward the net. He scrummed one in on a rebound; he took the shot (not the pretty pass temptation) on the other. There's a lesson or two for the team in there.
  11. No hockey talk in a football thread even if it is two old WCHA rivals.
  12. The forecast for Houghton, MI.
  13. And now mens baseball has an early signees release too. I'm guessing that we'll be waiting until Thursday or Friday.
  14. Good grief. Everyone we've played so far is mentioned in that poll. 1. BC (L) 3. Minnesota (W, L) 4. Wisconsin (L, L) 5. Colorado College (L, W) 12. Maine (W, W) Northeastern (T) Minnesota State (T, W)
  15. Michigan Tech's 2004 statistics to date: http://gliac.org/archive/2004/football/stats/mt.htm#team.tem UND's: http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/football/stats.asp
  16. Welcome to the game site for this game: Sherman Field.
  17. Talkin' up seasons and records in November and December. This isn't the SCSU board lads.
  18. Back to subject matter: Early Signees. FightingSioux.com has reports up already for mens and womens basketball. We must be close. (OK, it could still be a week.)
  19. Commence smiling. http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/wbball...RELEASE_ID=3318
  20. Do you give predictions on lottery numbers too? http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/mbball...RELEASE_ID=3317
  21. He became a Bronco (by transferring to Western Michigan). http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdispla...pid%5B%5D=23319
  22. Campus actually has a significant number of trees. Of course, that there are more trees on campus than in the rest of Grand Forks County is a whole other story.
  23. I pick up my handy-dandy UND all sports pocket schedule and what do I see: Minnesota Wisconsin Wisconsin-Green Bay Notre Dame Iowa Ohio State Denver Air Force Boston College Northeastern Connecticut Quinnipiac Vermont Canisius Peers indeed.
  24. Considering the early signing period starts in under 24 hours .... "Gentlemen, start your fax machines!" UND should be pretty busy considering what they will (and may) have to replace: Brandt Canady, Fylling, Genoway, Massen, McMahon Fuher, Jones, Schneider and maybe Stafford or Greene (or others?).
