Get in line. ;)

I will not disagree with that. On-campus just seems like a better arrangement for any campus if they can finance the facility. And hey, you have to admit that NDSU would have been "OK" with the scenario McFeely rolled out, namely a new arena and 6000 fans attending a game. petey23: There just seemed to be so many unanswered questions. That and some folks' pure dislike of any tax or tax extension seemed to work against the idea.
-
Deep down inside I still believe that Mike McFeely wasn't too far off on his take on this whole scenario. Please note: The block proposed for this just happened to be across the street from "NDSU Downtown" (aka the old Northern School Supplies building) and a hinted-at parking ramp the city might have built for the arena just happened to be adjacent to that same building. I'm sure "NDSU would be OK with this" too.

Complain about the trap if you will, but the way it set up Parise on that clean breakaway in the second was a thing of beauty. Heck of a nice play by David Hale to get that puck up to him when he flashed open. That iced that game right there. airmail: But the hit was clean. It's not Commie's fault the other guy is a bleeder. And it wasn't the blood as much as replaying about 100 times from every angle.

I thought I heard on the last Sioux Coaches Show that ticket prices were to remain unchanged. FSC membership may be another question entirely.

Why the 2005 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs of course. I still can't believe the Wild missed the eight-seed by one point in that season ending loss to the Blackhawks.

So many open question: - What about building a firestation to replace the one that would be torn down? - Why should the city buy the whole block and then resell part of it to Cityscapes? - The $40 MM only builds the arena. It doesn't build parking, or city infrastructure to support the facility (sewer, water), or the above firestation. - Fargo taxpayers have a $40 MM tax bill for a third HS on the horizon. - Mayor Furness was talking $50 to $100 MM for a water project to ensure that Fargo has an adequate water supply 50 years from now just before this project came to light. And that's just the beginning of the list. Like I said before in here, build a couple of practice sheets way south by where the new HS could go. Then build a "Little Ralph" like in TRF somewhere with good access for everyone in the city. You'll have spent less than half of the money and have more facilities if "ice" is the issue. Another thought: April 2000, Fargo Arena: 63% no. May 2005, Renaissance Center Arena: 71% no. Now what do they do?

Lose the foghorn. Get the siren that was used (sorry folks that lived it) to declare the evacuation of the City of Grand Forks in the 1997 flood. Rip that sucker loose after a Sioux goal. The message to the opponent: We survived that flood; will you survive this one? And it even meets CRR's "unique" criteria.

The Devils had that trapping mojo working pretty well two nights ago. Let's see if they can keep it going tonight.

Not if the person would be an incoming freshman. A school can announce signed if someone signs a national letter of intent. (They can't announce someone planning to walk on.) Plus, even if someone signs, the school can only announce the signing. They can't start using the name in official materials (like rosters) until the person is on campus full time.

Latest I've heard is "all Betty".

Clearly not Gopher material.

Again, if DI-AA is so wonderful, why are you here? PS - As recently reported in the "Fargo Forum," did Inninger raise that last $600k yet to make this year's budget in these last two months of the fiscal year (having raised $400k in the first ten months). How's the next $1 MM for next year coming? PPS - That Ralph is a pretty nice arena to house a seven-time DI champion in, eh?

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the off-season.

Miller tore a rotator cuff. Murray separated a shoulder based on A shoulder harness wouldn't help a rotator cuff problem but it would help to hold tight a separated shoulder.

Kohl Center? You mean that place that chanted the vulgar term for "rectal oriface", clearly audible over various media at the game, at a visiting coach one game? That Kohl Center? That place that is now subject to the Big Ten's new "three strikes" policy for student seating possibly being broken up? That Kohl Center?

Having some knowledge of that type of injury, I'd only call it "severe" if he was a quarterback or a pitcher or left-side-of-the-infield guy in baseball. They'll fix what they can, therapy and rehab him, and the surrounding muscles will be stronger than they ever were before. My question is: "How'd he do that playing hockey?" That's normally a throwing injury.

I'm looking at this from a "bodies" point of view. As things stand right now, UND has 9 defensemen, 13 forwards, and 2 goalies on the roster. That's a shorter roster than this season and there were a couple of games this year where every healthy skater was dressed. (A couple of times I thought Jake Brandt was going to have to go for the skater's pads and flash that Can-Am Series offensive prowess in WCHA play. ) And let's look at those numbers more closely: Of the 9 D, one's medical status is an unknown, one (two?) could go professional if the NHL restarts before fall, and two played more games at forward than defense this season. Of the 13 forwards, one is coming off shoulder surgery that cut his season in half, one is fighting through post-concussion syndrome, and one won't be 18 until after the 2006 NCAA title game. And you know they need another goalie. The practice load is just too much for two guys. Now comes the next monkey-wrench: There are only three guys in the class that graduates in May 2006 (Greene, Prpich, Marvin). You don't want to load up another "bubble class" (nine or ten guys) like this year, but you have to be able to put 20 guys onto the ice every night. Hak and his staff are going to earn it this summer.

From http://www.uscho.com/news/2005/01/27_009752.php At 6'2" and 225 he seems a little "thick" compared to other guys on the current UND roster. http://www.bchl.bc.ca/leagues/rosters_prof...&playerID=65682

From the USA Today article (link above): Now note that the WCHA is looking at the issue (PCM post above) and the AD at Minnesota (a school subject to this Big Ten policy) is leading the committee looking at it. My guess is that Kupchella didn't come up with the "disband the student section" idea on his own. My guess is that he heard it from talking to folks at Minnesota and Wisconsin who may be subject to it under Big Ten policy.

You know, I'm surprised fans of a [cynicism] big-time powerhouse DI like NDSU [/cynicism] have time to worry about lil' ol' DII UND and its seven NCAA DI national mens ice hockey titles and $110+ MM hockey and basketball arena complex (Ralph, Betty).
