  1. Then riddle me this: Oklahoma Seminole tribe members: no. Florida Seminole tribe members: yes. FSU: OK Five, yes 5, Chippewa bands in Michigan and yet Central Michigan has tribal approval from only one, yes 1, (the closest geographically) of them. The other four are on record as no. CMU: OK Two Sioux bands in ND (and should it not be 3 considering the Sisseton-Wahpeton have a casino on I-29 at the ND/SD border). Yet UND needs approval from both, not just the nearest one like CMU. Consistency not. It seems WCHA referee Don Adam is in charge. (Some of you will get that reference. )
  2. Exactly. Who's going, who's coming, led me to do some pondering .... As things stand now, there are really only four open roster slots, and it looks to me like they are accounted for: Lamoureux --> Eidsness Bina --> Blood Kaip --> Hextall Radke --> Lamoureux (he's age 20+ this fall) So, where do Gregoire, Bruneteau, Toews, and Cichy find playing time? Mario Lamoureux is eligible to play another USHL season and Gregoire could be the guy, but again, where are the other slots?
  3. I'll be sure to send your "stick it to the man" sentiment to my legislators as well. If "Go Sioux!" is wrong, and really means "Sitting Bull ____s" as some would try to tell you ... quite simply the answer is obvious: "Go Cavalry!" Thus, "Custer ____s!" <-- fourwindsboy should love that! (Don't blame me. It's someone else's "logic" strung to it's logical extension.)
  4. Think you don't like that? Imagine the horrors of being of German ancestry and hearing the Idaho Vandals moniker. Those are my fellow Germanic tribesmen and no one asked me for permission. I'm nearly as mad as those folks in South Bend, IN, ... you know, the Fightin' Irish.
  5. Sioux-cia (that dirty girl) explained the problem with the inconsistency. Me? I'll point out the moniker at http://www.yu.edu/athletics Go Maccabees!
  6. Wrong. First, the "workplace" is by definition an NCAA championship event, not a campus, or so sayeth the NCAA. Next, certain members of the (albeit Oklahoma) Seminole Nation declared an issue with FSU. By your own words: We had that one person from the Seminole Nation just as we have that one from the Sioux Nation. We have one person with a problem with it in the "workplace". Yet, FSU got off.
  7. "We've moved on." Oh yeah, sure you have .... that's why that video is about SDSU. And they had to rip the notion off! Just another case of "chucklehead Bison fans who believe that the idea of thinking for oneself is vastly overrated."
  8. The "workplace" notion is a nice try until you remember the "FSU" exemption. And "gettin' back at the man" is so clich
  9. For a group so supposedly past UND they sure do spend a lot of time fixated on UND don't they. PS - Read McFeely in today's Fool'em.
  10. Just like I don't need to know Player X spent 20 extra minutes after practice working on his backhand from 10' out on the off wing, or Player Y shot 200 extra free throws after practice, I don't need daily spoonfed football propaganda about depth charts or 40-times (both of which will change by fall) to sleep at night.
  11. Read your signature line.
  12. Did you miss those four straight trips to the NCAA .... oh, ... wait, ...
  13. I guess someone is going to fail senior design. http://www.grandforksherald.com/articles/i...ection=homepage PS - Dr. Chapman is out of the country and unavailable for comment. Now you can't make that stuff up.
  14. Isn't that the old "Congress sucks, but I'm voting to re-elect my Congressman" mindset? Classic.
  15. No, not really.
  16. Frey, Henley, et al, said it best: "I'd like to find your inner child and kick its little ... "
  17. Change the name and all this type of stuff goes away. Change it to some furry drooling mammal. Like at St. Cloud State, or North Dakota State, where swastikas have also appeared on campus at times. Kum-bah-ya. PS - Sounds like the wrong one or ones no longer live in the halls. There should be some booting out for vandalism and threats.
  18. Heck of a nice senior design project. Good to know the fixation and paranoia at hasn't subsided at NDSU. There are psychiatrists for that; you know, psychiatrists, people with medical degrees from medical schools like at UND. I hope there was no copyright violation using that much of that film. Someone might get sued, by a lawyer, from a law school, like at UND.
  19. I assume you've all heard the "breakin face" theme song.
  20. Adam Wodon's take (minus a few league media guides for spell-checking names ) followed by my thoughts: 1 BC - a gimme pick 2 Michigan - they were freshman dominated this past season 3 Notre Dame - feel good pick but, I'm not so sure, slide down a couple slots 4 CC - until March and April, again 5 Minnesota - apply the standard Minnesota off-season overrating factor and here they are (but who's gonna score?) 6 BU - I don't see this at all, replace with UNH 7 UND - departures control this 8 Wisconsin - seems too high, replace with DU 9 Miami - no Ryan Jones, go to 11, replace with Michigan State 10 Northern Michigan - reasonable given their finish Dark Horse? Minnesota State - Mankato. How will being shunned motivate them for 2008-2009.
  21. 您的母親是很醜惡的 .... Honk!
  22. You're such a tease, taunting me with the notion of lax again. To me that actually sounds more like M/W BB for the short-term.
  23. Folks, please quit feeding the trolls. They'll become virtually extinct after UND changes the name. They'll lose their only soapbox, their "cause celeb". Don Quixote will not have a windmill to tilt at. Thus, we'll never have to listen for this reason ever again. They'll be frozen out, and UND will still be going to Frozen Fours. That, friends, is the best revenge, as it's both self-desired and self-inflicted: on them, by them. As I've told many: Be careful what you wish for. You may get it.
  24. I was going to post something but instead .... [shuts mouth] [pulls hands from keyboard] [refuses to publicly rumor-monger claims overheard in Colorado] [ends post]
